This local theater is south of Hiroshima Station and across the river. Best to take a cab and bring a note from the hotel concierge if you don't speak Japanese! The entire 3 hour show is in Japanese, no reservations and has intermission and the total cost of $18.00. The theater is upstairs, so don't be put off by the porno store downstairs!
The performances are a mixture of vaudeville, cross - dressing, kabuki, Las Vegas, contemporary and classical Japanese music! The performers, both men and women are absolutely gorgeous in make up and costume! The scenery and lighting was very professional. We couldn't understand a word, but the entertainment on and off the stage was so interesting and lively. The audience obviously had their "favorites" and mostly middle aged and senior men and women! The performers posed for their audience and came outside at the end of the show to greet their many fans!. Many in the audience came up to the stage to bring tokens of appreciation. The only negative is the cigarette smoke creeping in from the "smoking section" off to the side. We had fun!
