“great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

As we traveled by Shinkansen, this was by far the easiest hotel to reach...just a few steps outside the station, with guilty glances at the waiting taxi queue. Lobby is on the 6th floor, and the rooms are even higher, which gave nice views on both sides. Breakfast buffet was ok, nothing to rave about.
I knew there would be a charge for the internet before I booked--a slightly unreasonable USD12 per day. But then I found out it was charged per device as well, and in our party of three with the phones and the iPads and the Kindles and laptops, it could have quickly reached the price of another room for the night. Not impressed, but other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Thank you very much for staying with us and having the comments on Trip Advisor. We are going to charge only one time up to three devices without extra charges for one room. We hope you come back to stay again with us in in near future.

We spent 2 nights here and found the rooms to be lovely. This is a top class hotel, but I do not give it a 5 star rating for 2 reasons. Firstly, you have to pay for internet access which is a real annoyance of mine when you are paying top-end room rates. Secondly, the buffet looked great the first night when we didn't eat there but went in for a look, but the next it seemed to have seriously deteriorated. There didn't look to be as much western choices and it didn't seem as fresh. Maybe there was a change of chef that day or maybe our perception of it on the first night was wrong. We ate from the a la carte menu and the food was nice, but the drinks extremely expensive. Coca Cola for 800 yen!?? The room minibar coke was only 210 yen! We felt like we were being taken advantage of a little.
Come here for a lovely room, but don't pay over the odds for the extras. Nothing is included in the price here.

This hotel is well-located for your stay in Hiroshima. The hotel is on the opposite side (NE) from where you will exit. If you are craving a coffee, take the elevator to 3F and there is a Starbucks. Once you exit the station, take the underground passage and take an immediate right at the bottom of the stairs. Follow the signs for Shinkansen Plaza, which is the large taxi/bus area in front of the hotel. You will take a long underground tunnel and take the stairs on your right back to ground level. The hotel will be in front of you. You can enter the train station from the hotel side, without having to go back underground.

The rooms here are very minimalist (which is my personal preference) but very well-appointed. People often complain about a dearth of power outlets, but you won't in these rooms and they are located in just about every convenient place you can imagine. The Sleeper Bed was very comfortable and the views of Hiroshima were very nice. Toiletries were abundant and of good quality. The Wi-Fi was the fastest of any hotel I have stayed at recently. I could download a Hi-Def movie on my iPad in less than 60 minutes.

My two complaints were the room service and the pool. For the former, the prices are expensive (expected) but on top of the 10% service charge (also expected) they tack on an additional 1000 yen delivery charge. Suffice to say, I bit the bullet because I was hungry. The food was good, but the portions tended on the smaller side. If you need somewhere close to eat on the cheap, the station has lots of restaurants to choose from and there is the trusty Family Mart right next door to the hotel that is open 24/7. The second issue was the pool...they charge approx 1600 yen for the use of the pool. At any price, no one should pay to use the pool unless you are renting equipment or using lockers.

But those are minor points. The staff was very polite and helpful. The bar at Miyabi-tei on the 7th floor is a nice place for a nightcap. Streetcars to places like the Peace Park and Museum are easily accessible by streetcar on the opposite side of the train station for about 200 yen. I would absolutely stay at this property again.

Room Tip: The Club Lounge rooms offer the usual free Club Lounge breakfast and evening cocktails.

Thank you for staying at Sheraton Hiroshima and posted the comments at Trip Advisor. For the pricing of delivery charge and pool charge, you pointed out, will be considered by management team. Once again, thank you very much and hope you come back again in near future.

If you're looking for stays in Hiroshima, look no further. This hotel has the service and comfort of a 5 Star hotel but price of a 2-3 star! The other one directly across is at least 50% more in room rates but look no better in luxurious term.

We went during winter and the weather was chilling in the evening. It was just a short dash from the train station back to the warmth of the hotel, greeted even more warmly by the concierge staff. It is situated right next to the JR/ Shinkansen station. Some say on the 'wrong' side but I think it's actually better - in a less clustered area but equally convenient. The rooms are big (37 sqm) and modern, clean and new, not mentioning nice view of sea and mountains. The wash basin & mirror are actually standalone from the bathroom and toilet (individual cubicle for latter two) which I like.

The lobby is on the 5th (or 6th) floor and if you're a SPG member, free cabled broadband in the room. WIFI at the lobby is free in any case, and some terminals (with free internet) across the lobby lounge for povidde for use.

Exceeded our expectation and hence highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for one on high floor and on the side which you could see the sea and a large scenery of the mou...

This hotel is the "wrong" side of Hiroshima Station. Good news and bad news. If you arrive by Shinkansen stay that side of the station. You can walk to it, even with heavy baggage. Right on the doorstep. It is the opposite side of the station for most of what Hiroshima has on offer. You need to walk underneath or through the JR station and use the tramway system to get about or, for the less adventurous, taxi. Tram 2 or 6 take you to the Peace Dome. 150Y to anywhere for adults.
The rooms are large by Japanese standards and Hiroshima prices are much less than Tokyo or Kyoto. Staff are very attentive indeed. Unusually, the barman (Mar 2013) is a Pole from Krakow married to a Japanese girl. Good chap. Excellent English for those who need it. Sheraton beds seem to be the best in any event and this one didn't disappoint and up to their superb standard. The breakfast was OK. Eggs to order etc, but whilst there was nothing wrong with it, I've enjoyed better in Japan?

This is an excellent Sheraton. It is adjacent to the Hiroshima Station. It is a long walk to the Peace Park and Museum but you can take a cab or tram instead of walking. Would stay there again for sure. You have to pay extra for wifi though which seems included everywhere else and I definitely take a star off for that. Come on Sheraton, cut it out.

I've stayed in some pretty nice hotels over the years and the Sheraton in Hiroshima would be right up there with the Park Hyatt in Tokyo as the one of the best in Japan in my opinion.
The rooms are beautifully set out and decorated, the beds are incredible and the location is second to none. Highly recommended.
