“Delightful little hotel. Good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Stayed here on a forced overnight stay in Hiroshima. Close to town centre and central train station. Rooms were basic but cheap by Japanese standards. Breakfast is also cheap at 600 yen per person. All in all definitely value for money.

Position: 15 mins walking from JR Central Station, 20 / 30 mins of easy walking from Memorial Peace Park and Museum, passing through the center of the city (shops, galleries, restaurants ...). There's a river and its quiet park just behind the entrance, very nice to relax in the evening.
Room: we booked a triple room for 2 nights in august (Hiroshima is worth a visit, for Memorial and for is close to Miyajima Island); price was good, the room was big enough and had simple but nice furniture, all the necessary comforts such as Lan connection, air conditioning (a little bit noisy indeed), bathtub and fridge.
Staff: friendly and helpful, good english speaking (payment requested at check-in).
We didn't try the hotel restaurant.
+ : machine selling water and drinks in the main hall.
I would sugest it for a good solution between price, position and services.

We decided to cancel another hotel and stay here because booking site read "non-smoking hotel." That was misleading as what it really meant was there are non-smoking rooms. We were given two smoking rooms but the front desk staff immediately offered to put air purifiers in the room. We were disappointed walking into the hotel, as it is old and needs a face lift as well as new furniture in the rooms. It didn't feel as clean as would be expected by Japan standards. If not for the friendly staff and the very healthy Japanese breakfast buffet, this hotel would have received a very poor rating from us.

This hotel is located 10min walking from the central station and is adjacent to the most lively district of Hiroshima. So position is its best quality. The rooms are small, as you'd expect in Japan, but the toilet was not so clean. In general the furniture appeared old and worn out. We found the window locked, so we asked for the handles to unlock it. Strangely, they seemed reluctant to give them, but finally we managed to get them and open the window. Why so much trouble just to open the windows?

They distribute free Yukata to sleep.

We stayed in an 8th (top) floor room with 3 adults for two night; at a v.good rate; lowest we paid in Japan. The third bed was narrow and hard; we also experienced this limitation in other Japanese hotels. This hotel is in a V good location - not far from both the railway station and the huge central shopping galleries. Also about 2 km from the Atomic dome. Breakfast offered variety in a buffet style; but like the hotel, average in quality at a low price.

The hotel was being renovated during the period of our stay. This gave the staff and workers opportunity to demonstrate their fastidious attention to safety. The hotel was covered with scaffolding up and over our 8th floor window, but it all came down and was packed away while we were out for 6 hours; incredible! The aircon struggled on a warm spring day; we did have large windows exposed to the sun.

The hotel staff spoke very little English but did try to be helpful.

We stayed in a corner room with 3 adults for one night at an incredibly low rate. To get to the hotel we took a taxi from the station which cost us about Y700. Rooms are basic, but large enough for three people. Location is amazing, only a 15-20 minute walk to the peace memorial park and on the way you pass the hon dori shopping arcade area, where everything happens at night. The reception was nice enough to even give us free breakfast, probably because there was some renovation work going on on the outside while we were staying. We didn't really notice it since we were out the whole day.

We stayed at this hotel during a renovation period and as such, the whole hotel was covered in a tarpaulin, so no views could be seen from the windows. We stayed in a semi double room, so the actual floor space was limited, but sufficient for a short stay. The hotel is conviently placed near a streetcar (tram) stop, so access around the town is good. Breakfast was not included, and this could be purchased for 1000 yen extra, so we decided to buy ours in town, so I cannot comment on the food quality. The staff seemed friendly and informative. I would certainly stay here again, based on location and price of hotel
