I stayed at this hotel during the 2007 Snow Festival.

The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the closest subway station (Nakashima Koen station) but that station does not have escalators so if you plan to take a lot of luggage, don't take the subway. It's a good base for exploring Sapporo since Nakashima Koen station is only 1 station away from Odoru. The first time finding the way from the subway station to the hotel entrance could be a bit tricky since the hotel entrance is on a back street. There are at least 2 convenience stores near the hotel so if you want some cheap food, snacks or drinks you could get them there. There are otherwise no restaurants or cafe nearby except a small noodle shop.

The hotel is nice, clean and safe. The room is very comfortable, clean and roomy. They have all sorts of channels on the room TV, including English and Chinese channels.

During the Snow Festival period they had a special buffet. The food at the buffet was not terribly good and I would not recommend eating at the hotel restaurants.

One gripe was the staff was polite and friendly if you could speak Japanese (and I could speak some) but they spoke almost no English and as a result the service was not terribly welcoming for foreigners. When I arrived late afternoon for check in my room was not ready, it took them around 30 minutes to have the room ready for me. I received a fax from my family which was not delivered to me until they time I checked out.

We were three: me, my wife and our child 14 yrs old. We had a wonderful stay. Faboulous breakfast both "western" and "japanese style". Underground station at 4' minutes walk.
