We were able to book this traditional ryokan via the Japan Welcome Inns and found it absolutely delightful. They have only Japanese-stle rooms, some with en-suite facilities. It is family-owned and although their English is very spotty, they made every effort to accommodate us and make us feel comfortable. They have a communal bath which was clean and well tended. The highlight of the stay for us were the optional meals served in the rooms for an extra charge--a good solid Japanese breakfast and a sumptuous dinner. We requested meals with no meat, and despite their very limited English skills, they delivered fabulously. It is located within a 10 minute walk of the train station.
