This was a very nice, beautiful hotel, although I was unhappy that it was so far away from downtown. I was there in the winter and there was lots of snow and ice on the ground, which made getting to the JR station a bit harrowing. Some of the service was a little slow (especially in the restaurant), but the concierge service could not have been better and they really treated me as if they personally liked me and wanted to help. My room was on a high floor, so except for the fact that it was snowing most of the time, it had good views, and was spacious and lovely. The downstairs Japanese bath and spa was really a plus and I enjoyed using that on many occasions. In fact, I would say it's the best selling point for the entire hotel. The restaurant was pretty good except for the slow to nonexistent service. It was on the top floor, though, so it was fun to look at the view, mostly of trains going and coming from the Shin-Sapporo station.

“Well done”

I wanted to stay downtown, but nothing available in my price range. This hotel sits almost on top of subway/rail line so only 20 minutes to downtown. Staff was super, very attentive. Great view at night over the city, not so attractive during day. But I wasn't in room much at daytime. This is one to take even if you can stay downtown.

“Its at Shin Sapporo!”

Many people (not us) have taken for granted that this hotel is located at Sapporo and alighted at the Sapporo JR station, only to be redirected to Shin Sapporo subsequently! Though it is located at Shin Sapporo, going to downtown Sapporo is a breeze with both the JR and subway just a stone throw away. Its also very convenient to travel to New Chitose Airport (about 30mins), however not if one has got big luggages and travelling in winter. Surrounding the hotel are a few interconnected shopping malls.

The room we stayed was of reasonable size (nice enough for 2A1C to manoeuvre around comfortably) and well maintained. As it is one of the few tall buildings, the room has nice views of the surrounding. Ask for an air humidifier, comes in very handy for winter nights and its complimentary!

Hotel staff speak very good English, cheery and are polite.

The hotel is really good value for money with high level of service standard and good amenities (though we didn't use any).

“Smart but outside of Sapporo”

The hotel is just a couple of minutes from Shin-Sapporo station which itself is a 20 minute subway ride to the centre of Sapporo, or about 10 minutes on the JR line. It's convenient to get to from New Chitose Airport - less than 1/2 hour on the train.

The hotel is clean and smart and we got a free upgrade to a room on the 26th floor with a great view. Nice comfy beds!

There are a few restaurants in the hotel but didn't try any of them though they seemed popular. There is also an instore bakery to grab a quick breakfast bite if needed.

Staff were very helpful but my only gripe was a charge to use the spa. I guess having stayed in mostly Japanese style hotels/ryokans with public baths this came as a surprise. It was back to Western style with a charge for everything!
