Stayed at Renaissance with my 2 kids for 2 nights during Snow Festival. We're quite disappointed about the location of the hotel as it's a bit far away (over the river) from the city centre and no restaurants around. Even though the hotel provide free shuttle bus to the Otori Park and JR Station, it depart every 1 hour after 12:00pm and before 5:00pm and the shuttle bus is sharing with the Novotel, it's make it's way to the city centre much longer than usual. By the way, as the weather is cold, it's hard to wait at outdoor with the kids if you passed the bus arrival time.
Another drawback is the window of the room is small and if you need to take the shuttle bus to the airport, you need to wait for the bus not in front of the hotel but bring your luggages across the road opposite to the hotel.
I think I'll probably stay at the JR Tower Nikko Hotel or Hotel Okura next year when I visit Sapporo again.
