“Just like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

The hotel emailed me way before arrival to welcome and offer any assistance to ensure a safe and trouble free trip to its premises. The hotel location is good, just a couple of minutes walk from two subway stations. The hotel, esp the room we stayed in, is clean and comfortable. The bed is just as good as my own at home and we slept soundly everyday. The staff is very polite, courteous and goes out of their way to assist. It is a value for money hotel.

Room Tip: Those facing the main road have good view and not affected by street noise.

Only hotel can accommodate 2 kids (up to 15 years) in a room with parents. Location is central, Breakfast is good, staffs are friendly. Walking distance to shopping areas n restaurants. Only thing to improve is the internet, difficult to access.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and during the 65th Snow Festival. We wish we could stay longer as there are so much to explore in Sapporo and nearby.

Let's start with our arrival into Sapporo. We caught an international flight from HK into Saporro into the new Chitose airport. We decided to take an airport shuttle Chuo bus to this hotel. However, the pickup stop is the last one for this bus route for international arrivals we could not get onto the first bus as it was full. We had to wait for the next one which is another 15mins later. But the second bus was also quite full and we had to sit in the bus alley all the way to get into town. The bus service operates 3 bus runs per hour (on a schedule) and quite busy most of the time as it stops at both the domestic and international terminals. If you are lucky to hop one, you need to pay Yen 1,000 per adult one way and will take you around 90mins (depends on traffic) to get to Susukino (just outside of Tokyu Inn) and Mercure is just right across the road (less than 5 min walk). Of course, there's also the train if you would like to catch it.

The hotel itself is fantastic. Let's do a quite summary:

- Fantastic location in Susukino. Lots of shops and good food around.
- Nearest subway station is Hosui-Susukino (Toho Line). It's just 30 secs walk to the left of the hotel. Susukino station and the undergound street is only 5min walk from the hotel.
- Staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful.
- Rooms are spacious and very new. We stayed in the Privilege floors and it's very quiet and had great views of the city.
- Rates wise, not bad considering the location and size of the rooms.
- Free high speed Wifi. It's really high speed wifi and no buffering! Can't get any better than this really!

Highly recommended hotel for families or business travellers as everything is so within reach.

Well done to the team at Mercure and keep up the excellent work!

Was there during Feb 2014 for 2 nights stay. Great view from room. Lots of good food around the area. Free Wifi at lobby and in the room. Great service orientation from the friendly staffs. Very near to Hosui-Susukino and Susukino station. Would like to stay again if going to Sapporo again in the future.

Great hotel with wonderful staffs.
Stayed in mercure fora total of 5 nights, found the staffs to be excellent, informative and helpful.

The outstanding one will be Mr Bertnard the french gentlemen on the ground floor.
He is informative, polite and helpful.

Room size was good and location excellent. First timers to sapporo, be daring and explore the restaurants and ramen shops in the small alley way around the hotel vicinity.
Also note eating places/restaurants in the buildings are usually on the top floors.

I have no reservations in recommending this hotel.

To the staffs, thank you for a enjoyable stay.

It give bigger room compare to others Japan hotels. The room is comfort, clean and new.
Overall stay quality is good with great prices average 3star hotel price in Japan!
Definitely will return again!
The room had not much view but it's doesn't really matter me.
By the way, i got the free upgrade to privilege room (add some extra in-room facilities) maybe because i'm the Accor member.
Little downside was abit far from JR Sapporo Station, and it need to take 2 metro station to reach there (location wise is very subjective to personal opinion), and the nearest metro exit toward the hotel had no elevator, you need to prepare to carry your luggage to climb up 2 or 3 level of staircase...
It just stand in the heart of the nightlife area and some people may find it good located.

Room Tip: Get highest floor (max 15) will had better view.

We stayed here for 5 nights on the top floor and loved every minute of it. The room was elegantly decorated and was the most spacious one we stayed in during our trip to Japan. The staff were friendly and spoke fluent English. The hotel is conveniently located a minute away from Hosui-Susukino station and a few minutes away from a lot of restaurants and the delicious ramen alley. We loved Sapporo and the snow! It was the most enjoyable part of the trip. We can not wait to come back to Sapporo and when we do, we will definitely stay at the Mercure again.
