Xixi Wetlands is an interesting blend of natural and cultural history that shows the link between the Chinese farming lifestyle of Zhejiang and the environment. The story of silkworms and boat rides through the canals with glimpses of native wildlife is a rich experience. Craftspersons can be seen making beautiful silk paintings very close to where the silkworm pupa are harvested and spun into thread. If in the Hangzhou area, it is well worth a visit.
