“Half price bargaining”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

There are hundreds of stores in this way, you can find almost everything one can di with silk. People don't speak english but they can do deals: it was strange for me to ask for sizes, colours, shapes using fingers and binary logic (this yes, this no)!
My suggestion is to bargain: choose something, ask price (rubbing your thumb on index and middle fingers. They will write the price on paper), go away, return in a few minute, call the 'boss' and make your offer. My average deal has been 50% the price.

“Endless shops, decent prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

No bargaining here and the prices are higher than the Night Market, but if you don't particularly enjoy bargaining and pushing through crowds, this is the place to pick up reasonably priced silks. The yard goods stores feature gorgeous options for seamstresses; other shops offer scarves in every price range (I got many for less than $3 each) and finished goods like board shorts, lingerie, ties, and evening beaded silk jackets.

“excellent outing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

loved the silk street - hundreds of little shops selling silk items of every kind. Recommend that you walk through before buying to get an idea of prices/whats for sale. Nice atmosphere. Haggling is the way to go! The shops that sold silk fabric by the metre were lovely, but not very much what I would call traditional chinese fabrics which was a bit dissapointing. Wonderful fabrics though - about 9Euros a metre for gorgous fabric!
