“Horrible place to stay - Book at your own risk!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

Pros:
- Central location close to the night market.

Cons (Oh, boy!):
- Difficult to find.
- Hard to get a taxi from outside the hotel.
- Reception is on level 7 of "Tower A", however to get to level 7, you have to register on the ground floor as a guest ... more unnecessary paperwork when it's the middle of the night, and you're tired with family and luggage in tow.
- Rude reception staff.
- In room safe doesn't work.
- No security chain or secondary lock inside room.
- The room had a camera inside, with a tissue placed over it;this creeped me out, WHO WAS TAPING US IN OUR ROOM???
- Rude staff in the lobby.
- Rude staff all around, basically.
- Housekeeping lady always insisted cleaning our room around 6-7pm. When I told here IN FLUENT MANDARIN that it was not necessary, she pushed past me to get inside my room, and proceeded to clean!!! What the heck?!?!?
- Toilet was blocked.
- Used toiletries not replaced.
- I locked all valuables inside one suitcase, and left the other open; The open one had only clothes inside, nothing valuable. However, the open one was CLEARLY rummaged through each day, despite our room showing no signs of having been cleaned or tidied. Complaints to reception had no result.
- Poor water pressure in the showers, and the water was either too hot or too cold, with the temperature fluctuating up and down by itself constantly.
- Windows didn't shut properly, letting in a draft of winter wind.
- TV remote didn't work.
- Room was either too hot or too cold. Too hot with the heater on, too cold off due to the window not shutting properly.
- Room was VERY noisy from traffic noise, even up on the 9th floor.
- Toilet was backed up when we checked in.

Conclusion? Stay away from this place if at all possible ... But if you don't heed this warning, then stay at your own risk - You have been warned !!

Room Tip: Rooms at another hotel altogether would be a much better option.

Quite disappointed in fact, contrary to those who have mostly given good reviews. Family rooms are much smaller than the size provided on hotel booking website, and the beds/ mattresses are hard. It has a washing machine in the bathroom but no separate dryer, so can forget about saving on laundry cost if you have plans to do some laundry. Overall rooms are run down. It's not easy to get taxis at the apartment and some taxis would just drop you off at a distance (start of the street) as there's night market just in front of the apartment. Staff manning the small office are rather helpful though. We stayed 2 nights and on hindsight, thought we should have booked a hotel in Wulin vicinity instead. It's not that cheap after all, given the conditions of rooms and stay.

Definitely not a hotel that one would return. We changed two family rooms twice! Rooms were tired and bathrooms were dirty. Drainage in the bathroom seems blocked. No cleaning services during our 4days stay in Nov 2013. Housekeeper just drop off toilet roll n amenities loosely on bathroom tops. Cockroaches were found in the room & hallway! That said, staff were indeed very accommodating, helpful and patient. That is the only good point to us.

I enjoyed staying here for 2 nights. The location was great, right outside was the night market, after that it's a short walking distance to the lake, and the taxi to the hotel from the train station was only 12 RMB (theres also a bus, like #115, or #155, that picked up a street down and went back to the train station, like 10 mins, but theres nothing in English on the bus stop signs. My girlfriend read the Chinese signs and I just followed along, 2 RMB)

From what we heard from the front desk, the pool is a separate business and charges 26 rmb, and is only from 5 pm to 9 pm, which was a bummer since thats such a short window. The gym had a similar window but was free, but really small.

The room was bigger than expected, lots of space. The bed was two twins pushed together with sheets over the top turning it into a queen, but plenty soft. The place takes foreigners too, which was great for us.

this really is a great find for a family looking for more space than a cramped up place in a overpriced hotel. has a small kitchenette with basic plates and cups etc., a washing machine and a microwave oven. bath has huge bottles of body wash and shampoo and the toothbrush sets are changed everyday. bed is queen sized but u can ask for extra bed at a cost. reception girl with limited english was so helpful that she walked about half a mile with us so that we could find a moneychanger and also showed us some eating places around. this place is about 800 mts from westlake. there is a nice makeshift night market in the street right in front of the apartment, u could find some nice bargains there but dont forget to bargain hard.
