“Worth the trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

The tomb is fairly new. Very few visitors which was good. Be sure to take get a good guide as the tomb is very dark, photos hard to take and signage is not good. Some areas have thick glass panels in the floor which helps to see various parts of tomb. Be sure to take a good flashlight. They are still working on this very large area and have only excavated 10% of the tomb so it will someday be much more worth while.

“Hanyangling is the "small terra cotta tomb"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

This museum is the burial site of the fourth emperor of China. It was a peaceful period so instead of burying warriors, the emperor buried terra cotta bureaucrats. They are much smaller (1 meter) but the museum lets you get up close. You are able to walk over the site on glass. The light level is quite low, so photography is a challenge. Bring a flashlight. Public transportation is limited so it is best to hire a car to take you on the way to the airport as you leave town. Plan on two hours. The price is high, but it includes a guide.

We hadn't heard of this site until it was suggested by our tour guide. It was excellent. You can get very close to the warriors to take pictures. The history is very interesting g
