“A good alternative to Chinese Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

Folks don't usually come to Xi'an to eat non-Chinese food but should you find yourself a bit tired of local fare then this place is for you. The portions are good sized, cheapest steak and eggs in the city, and the staff are really friendly and helpful and most importantly the consistency is always the same no matter what day of the week or time you go. On a side note I agree with Leevonb - the Indian next door is probably the worst non-Chinese food in the city...not quite sure why anyone would suggest it.

“As good as Xian Western food goes...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

This is as good as the city has to offer in the terms of Western grub. It is in a mall so the environment is a bit dull, but at least they utilize the heat. It is warm and cozy and a decent place to linger. The smoothies are good, especially the mango one. It is packed with Chinese families so proceed with caution around 5:30 pm! The Tex Mex is ok and the chicken chimichangas are satisfying. Bigger portions of sour cream and salsa need to be requested. The service is Chinese style, impersonal and food comes out plate by plate.

“Tex-Mex Review from a native Texan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Enjoyed the whole dining experience. The food and presentation is as close a representation of Texas Tex-Mex as I have had outside of Texas. Reviews by Brits and others don't count for much. I've eaten at other city locations, namely Chengdu, and have been quite pleased overall with service and food. Of course, there have been a few breakdowns in each, but we're in China.Peter is an amazing young Chinese.

“Great comfort food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013 via mobile

I regularly frequent Pete's Tex Mex and, although the portion sizes seem to have become smaller since it's opening, I find the restaurant to be one of the best in Xi'an. Every dish I have had has been cooked to perfection and is delicious from start to finish. The steak here is particularly good. The staff are some of the most courteous I have met whilst living in China. All in all its a great setting with great food. On a side note: Whoever said to go to the Indian in the same mall has got to be kidding! go to Delhi Darbar near to the Big Goose Pagoda for a far better Indian meal.

“Just like home or pretty close.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Service was great and the fajitas hit the spot. The best part was finding a can of Dr. Pepper in China.
