unfortunately we only had one night In This beautiful hotel. Arriving at 9.30pm and leaving at 8am! The room was beautiful, the best we have had on our 7day trip to China. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. The location was great and the city wall, shopping, restaurants and the bell tower are all withing easy walking distance. The square is a short walk away to view the residents performing their morning excercises and dances - highly recommended. The hotel was clean and modern. The buffet breakfast was good. Although all of the hotels in China can be smoky I noticed it the most at this hotel. My main issue with this hotel was that it was hot. The air conditioning was not turned on in the entire hotel. Apparently, they cannot turn it on this early in the year. It was advised that we should open the windows which I was unable to accomplish the first night. The window was opened for me the second night which helped with the temperature but also allowed the noise and smog to enter the room. It would have been helpful to provide fans for their guests if they refuse to turn on the A/C. 2 bottles of water were provided daily and there was free Wi-Fi.

Room Tip: If the air conditioning is not operating, make sure you are able to open the window since the rooms...

it is about ten mins walk to the bell and drum tower past loads of shops.
The hotel is fine, huge 8' bed.
Nice bar area and a well stocked gift shop - lovely breakfasts
Only down side is that we were unable to find anywhere to eat locally where we could understand the menu so I am ashamed to say we ended up in Mcdonalds.

2nd part of our Oriental Travel company tour after 3 days in Beijing flew to Xian, good internal flight food on the plane was basic all chinese seem to want their photos taken with you, even had a buddist monk come up to us in the airport for his photo. Called at the Tombs of Han Yangling on the way to the hotel smaller version of the terricotta warriers still been excavated tomb not opened yet.Arrived in the dark to the hotel but again same as the hotel in beijing everything provided in the rooms all the hotels we stayed at had free room safes.Only had breakfast as we eat out on the tours all choices and good. Didnt have to use the staff in the hotel much but reception and restaurant all polite. Beds lovely and comfy.visited Ancient city walls biked round with hubby took us about a hour at a good pace.Terracotta warrier workshop where you can buy new copies of the warriers and the terricotta warrier site which is very impressive again there is still more to unearth so anything could be found.

We chose this hotel because of its good reviews in tripadvisor. We went there during Chinese National Day holidays, when the city was full of tourists from all over China, and also from foreign countries (eventhough for foreign tourists, the number was still less than Beijing's). The location of the hotel was good, strategic, near to Bell Tower. There were many places where you can eat, or go for groceries. The room was nice, clean, eventhough will be better if there are racks to keep clothes in. There was shower room separated from the bath tub. We asked for non-smoking, high floor room with King bed, and they gave exactly what we wished. The staffs were always willing to help, but except the staffs at the receptions, they were lack of english ability. After checking in, we asked them about 'welcome gifts' on the phone, and they told us that we could choose one among 'red' and 'sun'. We got confused. Later, there was a staff coming to explain about the welcome gifts, and showed us 'light' and 'fan' to choose.
Once we had in-room dining, and when we finished eating, the staff took out the dirty dishes, including 2 teaspoons that belonged to our room, that we used to feed our small daughter.
We asked them to return the teaspoons back, but the first person who received the call didn't understand what we meant. It took at least 3 persons to talk to, but it became quite late that time, so I called them again in the morning. Somebody who seemed to understand english better told us that housekeeping would bring 2 teaspoons later. They later brought those teaspoons. But, regardless of how hectic it was going on, when we checked out, we were asked again about the teaspoons. They said we hadn't returned the teaspoons yet. So, again we had to explain the same thing to them. This time was only once, fortunately.
The food for in-room dining was delicious, and reasonable price.

Note: Xi'an in general is not very developed in customer service. We experienced a bad experience with a tour, which we booked from a supposed to be reliable agent. You could send me message if you need more information about this.

Good Hotel to stay in Xi'an. Clean room and bathroom. Food needs improvement. It is located in the city center and near shops and malls. The hotel package tours are great. The staff speak little English. It is also safe in this hotel.

After staying in a hotel far from city centre in Beijing, it was refreshing to stay at this hotel located at the heart of Xi'an. Shops, transportation and restaurants were all accessible by foot which is ideal and perfect for the common traveller. Lobby was nice and updated, wi-fi was strong (but only available in the lobby unfortunately), good service, delicious and plentiful breakfast buffet... the only downside was the small room which had to fit us 3 travellers. All said and done however, we didn't spend that much time in the rooms so it wasn't a huge deal.

When in Xi'an, obviously everyone goes to see the Warriors... we also highly recommend finding a local noodle place and to get up on the City Wall to take a golf-cart or bicycle tour around the wall, allowing a unique 360-degree view of the city, both inside the walls and out. We did the bike ride and it takes 1-1.5 hours to get around, serving as both an excellent workout and a great way to see how the city is populated.
