The Bell Tower Hotel is in the heart of Xian. You can basically walk to the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Great Mosque. Across the street is a 24 hour McDonald place in case you are jet-lagged from your trip and get hungry in the middle of the night. There is also a supermarket across the street, it is located in the basement of the department store. We reserved a deluxe room and had a view of the Bell Tower hotel, nice view because they put lights all over the place at night. Tried the buffet breakfast one day and they havea very nice spread.

The Bell Tower couldn't have a better location in Xi'An. So easy to walk around & discover the city. Rooms were OK, seems like they did some remodeling but missed some bathrooms, as some were moldy, as was the carpeting in the rooms. I'd only stay here again if I could see the room first.

Hope I've got the right hotel here - I stayed at the Holiday Inn-run Bell Tower Hotel, not the Bell & Drum Tower that forms part of a huge group of neon-lit buildings opposite.

We were wowed by the bathroom - modern, glass basin bowl and everything clean. Good amenities, clean room, safe in room. In short everything we could need.

Breakfast buffet was the best we had in China. OK, some of the American dishes they attempted weren't great (like the pancakes) - but we're in China so what do you expect? Cakes and pastries were excellent.

The location is key here and you cannot get it better if you tried.
