“Good food and good ambient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

I had dinner with my girl here. The manager reception was very nice, he speaks fluent english and is very kind.

The wines are expensive but the food is not very expensive and it is very good.

“A Welcome Change”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

If you are living in China as we are, even if you adore Chinese food, you are ready for a change. The only Portuguese restaurant outside of the former Portuguese colony of Macao near Hong Kong, Saint Louis Portuguese provides that welcome change. Wonderful steak in mustard sauce, garlic roast chicken, calamari and flan were some of the treats we tasted on a recent trip. The seafood items looked wonderful and the manager assured us we could not go wrong ordering any of the shrimp or crab dishes. This restaurant was also extremely lovely to look at and comfortable enough to want to while away an entire afternoon.

“Very good food in a beautiful ambience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

This restaurant is a very good choice in terms of food. The ambience is exceptional and really very accomodating. Separate rooms and WLAN are available. The choice of food is rich and probably oriented to Macau dishes. Some Portuguese favourites are not available however (espetada mixta de carne, frango assado). The selection of red wines is large and many good wines from Portugal are available (Borba, Dão Grão Vasco), and prices are reasonable.
Unfortunately, noone speaks well English or Portuguese. Nevertheless, it's a great place for good food and a nice evening.

“Pound for pound the best International Restaurant in Xi'an”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

This is located right in the middle of Gaoxin, near the expensive hotels, but this International restaurant is remarkably good value for money given its location.
There's a wide range of Portuguese/Macau inspired dishes, as well as all the usual steak and seafood dishes, and having been there 6 times now I can honestly say they've never failed to impress with a single dish - always well prepared, perfectly cooked and served in a timely fashion.
Especially recommended are the roasted perch, the mexican pancakes and the curried sirloin.
The atmosphere is authentically 'western' with tasteful decor and romantic candelight after 7.30pm.
