“Equal to the terracotta warrior site”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

This site is equal in many ways to the find at the terracotta warrior site. There are smaller statues of non army court people and servants and animals that were dug around the Tang emperor's tomb.

“What lies under this mound is the stuff of dreams”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

As you climb to the top, just have a think about the wonders that lie within. This Emporer was paronoid about tomb robbers and because of that has supposed to have took some incredible stuff with him. I hope it's within my lifetime that I get to see this tomb opened.

“tombs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

What I liked most was those stunning sandal wood pillars soaring 30 feet high , and not 1or 2 but 20 all of them. I measured the girth, and it took 3 of us holding arms to encircle it. Rest of the things , were of course as majestic as you would expect.

“Beautiful horse ride around the tomb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012 via mobile

We were short on time so we couldn't climb the hill after the "Spirit Way" walkway, so we took a horse ride up to the East Gate entrance area of the tomb. You can't go in or see anything besides the hill on top of the tomb, but the panoramic view is amazing. It cost us 100 RMB for a 20-30 minute ride to that scenic spot. Negotiate the price first, and be clear about where you want to go. They upsold us en route by asking us along the way whether we wanted to see this and that...and then told us later we had to pay 100 RMB, rather than the previously agreed upon price of 40 RMB, because they took us to an extra spot.
