I really don't get the previous reviews. Is it geared to foreign tourists? Yes, of course. The big foreign tour groups are the primary patrons but on the night we attended there were also a lot of Chinese present. Though I agree the service is rushed, everyone at our table enjoyed the meal. What I really don't understand are the comments about the show itself. Is it authentic to the era of the Tang Dynasty? I don't know and, I would submit, neither do those who provided negative reviews. Comparing it to a Vegas show -- really? You didn't pay anywhere close to a Vegas price for this show. Too "touristy?" What did you expect? Would you have said the same thing about a Western melodrama in Colorado, a Cajun cultural performance in Louisiana, or a Renaissance show in Europe? News flash - shows geared to tourists are generally "touristy." That doesn't mean that they can't be fun and entertaining. So, if you want to have an enjoyable evening, don't stew about whether the Tang Dynasty show is "authentic" Instead just relax and enjoy the dancing, the costumes, and the music.
