“2 nights at the Titan Times”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Xi'an was the second stop on our tour of China with my daughter's High School class. We had just arrived in Xi'an by overnight train and were all a little tired and dishieveled from our journey from Beijing. I was impressed that the Titan Times let us check into our rooms and have breakfast even though it was only 10am and well before check in time. Our rooms were VERY spacious and clean and had a nice view of the city wall. The beds were 'rock hard" probably the hardest beds I have ever slept in (expect perhaps the overnight trian lol!) Our tour guide explained to us that this is typically what Chinese people sleep on - hard beds or even wood. Internet acess was only in the lobby which again was explained this is typical of hotels in China, but some are expanding to keep up with westerners expectations. Overall enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Titan Times.

Room Tip: Find a safe place to cross (it is hard) and enjoy the city wall at night.

This hotel is in a great position but is a bit lacking. Beds were like a rock and aircon was jammed on hot all night. We couldn't switch off. The windows do open but there was a 24hour construction site across the road, so that wasn't much of an option. Food was okay (not wonderful) but staff were not very friendly. Hotel is old and quite comfortable (except for the beds!) and rooms were large. If I went again, I would stay somewhere else - somewhere where you could get a good night's sleep.

The hotel was fine. Relatively clean, the food was acceptable and the cost was reasonable.
The price of the hotel was acceptable. Service of the staff was above average. The bed was hard... There is one reason to go to Xian that being the Terra Cotta Warriors. They were great a unique experience. Xian was a different story. The air quality was a mess. We fly in one morning, did a quick city tour went to the hotel, went for a 1 1/2 hour walk to look, had a massage across the street which was acceptable but not cheap, went to see the warriors the next morning, and flew out that afternoon. That was long enough for Xian.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room. There is smoking almost everywhere in China..

Service was non existing. The beds were hard as a rock. Room service was 3 star quality.
Aircond was stuck on real hot so we had it off during our stay. You complain and no one listens.
Shower didn't work properly. Not all power points worked. No milk in fridge.
The other hotels we stayed in during our china holidays were great.

We stayed at the hotel from 29th Dec and checked out on 2nd Jan. For all 4 nights, we had the best stay in China ever. The room is big and clean, there are most of the things tourists need for a room at the price of a 4-star hotel. Even though there are smokers, we manage to stay from them for the past few nights. The location is good and convenient for tourists who like to travel around by public transport.

Everything is good except for the lack of internet service. The hotel manager claimed that the land authority 'accidentally' disconnected the telephone wire underground during their subway construction, and there is no way to fix anything for a week. The most interesting thing happened when our iPad was connected to a free unknown internet access in the lobby named somehow similar to the hotel's name (titantimes)

Anyway, we had a great trip and would love to visit Xi'an again in the future :)

Okay so I may be used to American and north European hotels where non smoking is the norm but the room I was given absolutely stank of tobacco. It smelt so bad I couldn't sleep. The air conditioning is poor as well and seemed to just circulate the stench of cigarettes around the hotel. The rooms are big and spacious but when i asked for Internet access they said it doesn't work and there was no computer to use for guests. The staff are so rude and initially refused to change my room but eventually did to one not much better. The beds are rock hard, I couldn't sleep and it is situated next to a building site which to be fair isn't unusual. I checked out the next morning. There are much better options in Xi'an within the city walls so don't compromise and come here.

We have just returned from a 5 week trip through China & Hong Kong.
We stayed two nights at this hotel.
The rooms were clean and a good size by China standards. However the beds were absolutely rock hard & we found it impossible to sleep in them,
The worst feature of this hotel was the staff. From the moment we arived to check in we were met with grunts & abruptness. Any questions we asked were met with we will check that & get back to you, which they never did. We asked for an item that was missing from the room. We were told outright "No" from the room service staff on two occasions. After three attempts with the desk staff we just gave up & did without.
We were glad to check out & move on. It was by far the worst hotel we stayed in throughout the five weeks.
