“Good location, clean rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

This is a nice hotel, very reasonably priced, and in a good neighborhood for shopping and restaurants.

LOCATION: the hotel is very close to good restaurants and shopping centers, and is a short drive away from the old city walls (drum tower, bell tower, Muslim Quarter, and hundreds of places to shop and eat!)

AMENITIES: they have fairly standard amenities, like a restaurant, gift shop, laundry service, etc.

STAFF: our experiences with the staff during check in, check out and moving our luggage was uneventful. No one was rude, or extra friendly. Just professional. The cleaning staff kept our room very clean and tidy.

ROOM: the room had two beds, each one sized roughly between a twin and a full size in the US (keep that in mind if you're planning to have two adults per bed - it will be tight). The room has air-conditioning, but we were there in the spring, and they were not "allowing" the air conditioning to be used, only the fan was functioning. It's an energy saving measure, but we had several warm days, and it would have been nice to control the temperature in the room. In the summer, the A/C would be fully functioning (per the front desk)

PARKING: the parking is free and abundant (for a hotel in China), if you're planning to rent a car (brave soul!)

Hotel is an about 45 min drive away from the airport, at least at 22:00 at night, so your guess is as good as mine, how long it will be during rush hour.

Rooms are quite large. Bathroom has a walk in shower and a bathtub.

Beds are comfortable, even by western standards.

Electric plugs are about 2 m away from the night desk and next to the desk. There is a computer on the desk, hence if you have your own laptop, you end up sitting on the bed, because the desk is not usable.

Internet is LAN and WLAN based. I tried the LAN. Speed was OK, but nothing special. I have not tried Skype of Facetime, but I have to assume it will work. VPN is working.

Breakfast was OK, some Salami, but no cheese. Toast was very boring and tasteless. Orange juice was not drinkable, so was the coffee. All in all, you will survive the breakfast.

I stayed at the Ziction Liberal Hotel for one night whilst in Xi'an on business. The reception area and bedrooms were very modern and decorated to a very high standard. The bathroom was good with a deep bath and powerful shower and all the necessary toiletries.

Staff were generally very helpful but did not have the same level of English as you'd fine in Western chain hotels.

The breakfast selection was poor in my opinion. There were plenty of Asian dishes to choose from and a lot of options which were more lunch/dinner focussed but there were not enough breads, cereals and cooked breakfast options. Also, two waitresses could not understand that I wanted tea (not so unusual in China!) and brought me an orange juice instead!

Overall, this hotel is modern, clean and pleasant although I wouldn't recommend the breakfast. I would stay here again and the price was very reasonable.

Room Tip: Ask for a double, I got two singles.

Stayed two nights here in Oct 2012. As Chinese business hotels go, it is OK. 4 stars. Rooms on upper floors seem to be cleaner and larger. Bathroom was well maintained and clean. Bed was comfortable enough, though if you are used to very soft beds this is not it. Very few foreigners in this hotel. Mostly mainland business guests who smoke in the lift, etc. It is close to some universities and high-tech parks. Security is OK. Breakfast was not great at all. Noise levels are OK. Paid RMB650 + 50 for breakfast in King room on 16th floor.

Room Tip: higher floors will have less street noise

Two times every year I'm here in this hotel.
Very close to one of my partner activity in the same area, so I've choose this hotel, with very high level of confort and great space in the room, not new but clean and reserved.
The rooms are quiet, confortable, great double bed and bath with space.
the hotel offer a nice coffee bar on the top roof floor, where you can drink a very good italian Lavazza coffee and this is my preferred place to drink it !! also the restaurant to the first floor is ok, breat menu at buffet, you can choose as you like, fish, sashimi or sushi also, chinese foods, or some vegetable dishes and rice and a great number of fruits and cakes as you like. the service is fast and they take care of you. they are very kind and nice. Is not expensive about 70 usd per night, and you can stay welll here, they have also a great free sauna service, massage centers also with people very professional. You can stay here well for business. Foods service in room very fast. XI'an is a great city, not expensive to live, full of young people and students, to visit the old center and do not lost the Terracota Warriors in the archeological area, very close to the city 30 minuts !! I suggest to book taxi and hotel using local chinese people so you can spend less !!! Attention XI'an is a great city but the quality of the air sometimes is very bad, too much pollution !!!

This hotel is located in the south west of the city, it is very suitable for the business traveler who do business in the area.

In terms of the hotel, it is fairly new, but unlike other hotels in China, the furniture is not worn out. I have stayed twice in this hotel, both times in different room types, I don't know which one is which, whether it's standard or comfort type, but both were adequate in size and comfortable.

For once, the room service menu is very reasonably priced.

For the foreign travelers, make sure you print the name of the hotel in Chinese to show to the taxi driver, otherwise they won't know it. It can cost upto CNY150 for taxi trip from the airport.

For the tourist, it is probably not a good location, better off staying within the city walls.

Overall I really like this hotel, it's a very reasonably priced hotel.

We had a fabulous experience with this hotel. Great location in the High Tech District of Xian. Rooms and common areas were clean; staff were very helpful - from providing bottles of water, extra towels, translating Chinese to English, English to Chinese, assistance with changing airline tickets, even walking us to nearby restaurants. If you need to be in this area of Xian, I highly recommend this hotel.
