“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

We stayed here for one night and were satisfied with our stay. The room was nice and we had a small balcony where we could sit and enjoy the view of the lake. The hotel is very well located, right on the lake. A short walk along the lakeside led to restaurants and some central shopping streets.

We arranged our transfer from the airport with the hotel in advance and it was punctual with friendly staff. When we arrived at the hotel we arranged our cruise to Yangshou and we were happy with the service we got.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the lake

We had booked this hotel as this was close to the Elephant cave. The reception is nice and I was glad to see an ATM right at the reception as most ATMs on the street were limited to UnionPay.
We were given the rooms at the top floor of the hotel in the western wing. The elevators were a little far away. However the walk is still ornate with nice surroundings. The room was large with good quality wall paper and looked pretty clean. The wallpaper looked crisp and refreshing. However a check of the bathroom revealed cigarette butts and ashes on the floor. I had specifically requested a non smoking room!!! A call to reception revealed that this was the only king size bedroom available. The housekeeping staff worked very hard to clean the bathroom and sprayed disinfectant but I still could not get the sight of the butts from my mind.
Anyway, I decided to move on. The view from the room was nice with part of the swimming pool also visible. Everything in the room was nice and spacious including the desk. Plenty of universal charging points available in the room, which was a very welcome sign.
The best part of the hotel is the location. It is very close (walking distance) to the gate no. 2 of the Elephant Cave park. Both the local restaurants street and the bar street are very close and you can reach both on foot from hotel.
We had a dip in the pool in the evening. The pool is clean and nice with a basic gym. The Jacuzzi is just for the name sake and does not really work.
For breakfast we went to the Chinese restaurant. Good Chinese choices were available. However after eating, we realized that there was a separate western breakfast buffet available!! I would have really appreciated if we were told about it in advance.
Overall a very good place to stay in Guilin very close the famous attractions. Good rooms and great location, however they need to pay attention to the details.

Room Tip: Go for the grand wing and also enquire about breakfast before hand depending on your preference

Walk out of Bravo hotel and enjoy the morning activities around the lake foreshores..juggling,tai chi with an upbeat twist, opera rehearsal etc;at the same time take in placid lake scenery. A night time stroll is safe;buskers, families together, well behaved young people and lighted cruise boats.ENJOY!

The Bravo Hotel was our favorite in the whole of China. Beautiful and exceptionally clean. Bathroom was amazing. Loved the little bamboo combs supplied. Nice touch. Rooms were spacious compared to anything else in China and well equipped with a very comfortable working station and plenty of plug points for laptops, cameras and cell phones. Beds were excellent, not to mention the brilliant breakfasts. Very large dining area with plenty tables. ATM in reception area was very handy and appreciated. Staff was polite and accommodating. Beautifully decorated interiors. Good concierge service.

It is a nice and quiet hotel by the lake. The room was spacious and had all amenities. Breakfast was good. Free Wifi was available in the lobby. Lots of cafes in the vicinity. We did not have time to explore the surroundings or the hotel much but would recommend it to friends.

Localtion is very good, besides the Ronghu of 2 rivers and 4 lakes, there are rooms of 3 different levels, and we stayed in the 4 star rooms which located above the lobby. The rooms are called "lake view room" but what I saw is the trees and lobby roof. our rooms are on the third floor and rooms at the higher floors are fully booked.

We stayed for two nights. The room was in the new wing. Quite spacious, the bathrooms are fabulous. The decor is quite unique! Scarlet and white, my daughter particularly loved the ostrich feather detail around the lamps. The staff are very accomodating and friendly. The pool is really nice but beware... Bathing caps are compulsory, they provide some "lovely" patterns for you to choose from. The breakfast is ok, the cafe food quite ok, their noodles recipes do vary from day to day. The bar is very comfortable. Good stop-over hotel.
