“Beautiful hotel, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

The Hotel was in the middle of the park in Guilin. We stayed just one night in the hotel where we were picked up to take the Li River cruise the next morning in our way to Yangshuo. The location is fantastic for this purpose and also because the hotel is sorrounded by gardens, so it feels pleasant to walk around outside of the trafic and noise of the city center. There is also a shopping area close by with restaurants to explore if you decide to try local food. The restaurant and the Tea house at the hotel are perfect though. Friendly staff. We have a room with garden, but we did not use it. Better to choose for a room in the first floor with a balcony overlooking the park and the hotel installations which are beautiful.

Room Tip: We have a room with garden, but we did not use it. Better to choose for a room in the first floor wi...

Clean Chinese hotel with spacious room. They offered us a free Chinese tea ceremony that we couldn't use. They also offered free transportation from the airport. However, it is very far from the city centre, which is painful if you are a tourist

My mother and I visited Guilin for two days in March, and the property and staff at the Guilinyi couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The grounds are set on a botanical gardens, with koi ponds and gardens all over. The room was beautiful, with very comfortable beds, a desk, a tea service, balcony and very nice bathroom (nice bathtub, fancy toilet seat). Everything was very clean. The staff were very accommodating- we arrived late at night and their driver picked us up at the airport, and they were able to make arrangements for us for the river boat followed by a private tour of the region (there was an extra fee for this, but it was pretty reasonable.) The breakfast was high-quality, filling and western-style, with eggs, toast, bacon, oatmeal, fruit and coffee. I wish we had booked more time to stay there, because the hotel was very relaxing and I would have liked to walk around the gardens a bit more. Overall, if I should ever be lucky enough to find myself in Guilin again, I would definitely stay at the Guilinyi Royal Palace.

+
. size of rooms
. nicely embeded in a garden
. very quiet
. price/value

-
. breakfast buffet (not fresh, selection)

What you need to know:
- it is difficult to find the Hotel, even for local taxi drivers. Hotel and place is (not yet) known in Guilin. You might face challenges to get back from the city every time
- the garden view rooms do not provide free view to garden. This is misleading

Suggestion to Hotel Management:
- please provide few choice of a la carte dishes for breakfast. As such the food will be fresh and more enjoyable. Like Hotel G in Beijing is doing.

Chris

We stayed at Guilinyi Inn located in the Botannical Gardens. The Inn offers a buggy service pick up to and from the gate entrance, there is a great shopping centre just out side the gardens and it is only a short cab ride to downtown Guilin. The staff were very helpful with limited English, we managed. The teahouse is fantastic, breakfast was filling but limited, we ate out every night. Very quiet in the hustle and bustle of urban China. The room appointments are very luxurious considering it is a very affordable room rate. Well done Guilinyi for the memorable stay we had.

As other reviewers have noted, this new hotel is out of the way in the botanical gardens. On the positive side, the hotel rooms have a resort look to it, as it is quite spread out in the gardens and it certianly is quite. The environment is very pretty with lovely views over the gardnes, It is quite luxurious and the rooms are very nice, well fitted out and quite spacious and comfortable.

However, it had the feel of a struggling hotel - very few guests, empty restaurant at breakfast and more evidence of staff than guests.

The location is quite isolated from downtown which we found to be inconvenient, Next time, I would opt for a hotel closer to town.

My husband and I book the trip to Guilin for one night. It locates in a botanic garden with beautiful surroundings. Newly open hotel with pools, bridges, tea house, and nicely planted trees making it a beautiful chinese style garden.

They charge us around 300 RMB for one night, which is a very good price for what they offer.

The room is nicely decorated with big bath as well. We were offered a coupon for the teahouse, which I cannot compliment more. The tea house was lexiously built and with live classical chinese music. We really enjoyed the time drinking tea and having snacks in the teahouse.

The only thing I am not quite happy about this hotel is the breakfast. Not matching the standard of the rooms and setting, could have been better.

Room Tip: We had a honeymoon room which is romantic with bamboo trees outside our room.
