I stayed here with my family of five (for just one night in June), I would definitely like to stay here again.
On the plus side:
Service: We were greeted in the beautiful lobby by a woman in traditional garb who offered us tea and hot hand towels. The hotel staff were consistently friendly and were nice to our children.
Setting: Large windows to the back of the hotel lead to a beautiful garden and a scenic view of the Pearl River. The hotel is large, but has a Chinese flair and doesn't feel like a cookie cutter western style hotel. It is a bit away from the center of town, so it is tranquil.
Rooms: The beds were comfortable, shower pressure was good, and the rooms were clean as expected of a top notch hotel. A beautiful fruit arrangement awaited us in our rooms,
Food: I highly recommend the breakfast and dinner buffet. After spending the past couple of weeks eating Chinese food, my family welcomed the nice variety of offerings, including Western food. While large buffets have their limitations, the quality was good. They even had a chocolate fondue fountain for dessert. Yes please!
On the minus side: The location might be an issue if you aren't travelling with a tour guide because you can't walk to the city center (you can cab it, though). Also, it is pretty expensive.
