I normally stay at the Garden Hotel down the street, but I decided to give the Holiday Inn City Center a try – a mistake. I had booked a standard room and upon check in the girl at the front desk recommended strongly I upgrade to an executive room. Feeling this was the normal sales approach to get you to upgrade to a more expensive room when not needed I declined. When I entered the room the carpet was dirty and stained. The furniture old and worn - just really bad. I immediately went down stairs and upgraded to an executive room. This room was better, but certainly not like the Holiday Inn in Hong Kong. I would not stay again and would recommend avoiding.

This is a very average establishment and a bit on the old side. The rooms need a real face-lift and bathrooms are a bit musty. The entrance is hidden and the hotel is located away from a lot of things.

I checked in at midnight without any problem. I asked for a suite (why not) and got a great deal (roughly 170$). The suite is really huge, living room, separate shower and bathtub, separate toilets with second toilets for the guests in the living. For business, it is really worth the money and you can hold small meetings without having to spend a lot. definitely, it's not a 5 stars (cleanliness, service are not impressive) but a very competitive 4 stars.

Wonderful hotel and location. My husband had been traveling here once a month for the past four years and FINALLY - the family got a tour of China. We stayed in the presidential suite and we were more than comfortable. Every room was huge! Our daughter used the dining room as her own personal bedroom while my husband and I enjoyed the master suite with a huge walk in shower for two or more! This suite also had a half bath, entry way, huge living room and a fully equipped kitchen! The hotel location is close to dining, shopping and eateries. The staff was extremely helpful in obtaining a cab, making sure they wrote down the cab number for you. Exchanging currency was very convenient. laundry service very good. However, the food offered in the executive lounge was lousy and the staff was not very good at anticipating your beverage needs!
