Chef Diego and the kitchen and wait staff did a great job delivering a delicious meal with fine service. My wife usually doesn’t care for seafood, but she gave the amuse bouclé scallop starter two thumbs up and she’s even considering giving scallops a try at home now. We shared the beef carpaccio which was flavorful with nice contrasts with the arugula. Her risotto was perfectly cook and balanced – great tastes and no acidity. I was wowed by the caponata that accompanied the tuna (which itself was fresh and firm; cooked exactly as I asked for it – medium-rare) because there were lots of subtle flavors to highlight but not overpower the tuna, and the vegetables were still a bit crunchy fresh. The freshly baked flat bread (didn’t catch the name) was a great addition, and the few remaining survivor pieces were not left behind – we doggy bagged them home. The dessert sabayon was marvelously light with a hint of sweetness with its hidden ice cream treasure. The wine list has something for everyone. Service was excellent, timely, and responsive.
Ok, and now for my two not unreasonable suggestions and one impossible demand: 1) need more American wines, 2) need a few more wines by the glass, and 3) convince the Chinese government to allow US beef into the market.
