“The good wheather is the secret”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

I stayed in this hotel in September 2013,The wheather in al taif was very good ,u will not feel the hot wheather of Saudi-Arabia,the hotel is very old,and sure it needs new renovation, the room was very clean and the service was very good. But the beds were ver small even for normal people. The decoration was very old but I enjoyed my stay too much.
The wheather in summer is the best.

This hotel is over 20 years old is only two story's high but very large with large corridors and VERY friendly staff.

The rooms are luxurious and well maintained, the lobby is undergoing renovation. The bathrooms are amazing with a great selection of toiletries and very clean bed sheets and towels.

I will certainly come here again for business or with my family.

Room Tip: There are no amazing views at any angle, and this is the second time I stay here at different rooms...

To be fair we only used the public areas and the restaurant.

The hotel looks like it hasn't been touched since the 1970s- we stopped off for lunch, encouraded by the excellence of the Jeddah hotel.

It was fairly late and they had obviously decided not to replenish the buffet, so rather than pick at scraps we ordered a la carte. We were a party of 6, and it rapidly became clear that the hotel's only concern was to establish the billing arrangements. we were asked 4 times whether the bill was a single one or if we were paying separately, before anyone took any sort of order. The food was very variable ( New recipe for gazpacho. 1 Open cold tin of tomato soup. 2. Pour into bowl. 3. Serve.) Apart from the joy on our colleague's face (he is an executive at Hilton) a grim experience.

Poor value, poor service. Jaded decor We would not recommend.

This grand old hotel has been here since 1976. You can see that in the furniture, the radio/clock specially is a classic late 60s early 70s art-deco relic. They have maintained it fairly well given that is essentially a not for profit property. There is nothing around this location it is very close to airport and quite a distance from the Taif city.

Right now is undergoing a major renovation of the hotel lobby so that entire was closed off. I was here on business the entire hotel was empty. The rooms were very comfortable and bathrooms huge with white marble every where. The bed was very comfortable. The work area is an old classical desk. There are 2 bathrooms in the suite, however the smaller one does come with a shower. There is a large sitting area with TV. Both rooms had independent climate control. There is hassle FREE WiFi in the entire hotel which is great.

I got the best reception for Ambassador gold member at this hotel (very surprised). Since I was in a suite already they didn't upgrade me but Khalid sent me a huge fruit basket, Arabic coffee, dates, nuts and more water. I think that was very nice of them. Mohammed Al Zahrani at the check in was excellent and professional. They had initially told me that the conference I was at had covered my meals but after I had dinner they apologized and said it was an error meals were not covered, but they wouldn't charge me for it. I know this area very well it is rare that a hotel accepts responsibility and covers their mistakes. I appreciate both Khalid and Mohammed Zahrani.

Breakfast is standard with an egg station and other stuff. Nothing spectacular but for this location it is quiet good. The dinner buffet is the standard in these hotels but the grills and other menu items were good. The only thing lacking was a choice of salads. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Including the Keralite manager in the restaurant (sorry can't remember his name) and Younis the waiter at breakfast.

Compared to Intercontinental Dar Al Iman in Madina the staff here is extremely professional and did actually feel as if in an ICH hotel. It pays to acknowledge your customers.

Lovely hotel, the young gentleman at the Reception was very helpful and very polite. The staff and service was great. Room needs some up dating, however, very clean and very comfortable. Really enjoyed my stay. As usual, great InterContinental standard. Can't fault anything.

I've stayed here on a number of occasions and it’s a reasonable hotel to stay in. The staff vary in their helpfulness but the concierge I've always found to be very good. Be warned though if the Royal family are in town you may find yourself being asked to move out to make room for VIP guests.
