“OK for Madina, Not bad but not too good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

Do not expect much from hotels in Madina as the priorities are different. The hotel is relatively close to Al-Haram but you need to walk about 400 meter to reach inside Al-Masjid. Staff are helpful, room is good and clean. WIFI is available and free. A/C is cold. Breakfast is poor, compared to five stars hotel. Room service was efficient but food is not. Elevators are not bad as others described and waiting time is accepted at rush time as prayer time.
In general it is ok to stay in for 2 or 3 days at a good price and not having other option for first rank hotels. But eat outside.

we were told this a 5 star hotel but it truly isnt. upon arriving our room safe wasnt working and we had to call someone to get to fixed. although help came immediately, u wouldnt expect this from a hotel espcially sincd we were so tired and just wanted to rest.

breakfast was probably the worst we ever had in a hotel. food was stale and there was hardly any variety. we survived on cereal mostly! staff attitude was also not too friendly.

location is great...just minutes away from masjib nabwi esp the ladies area.

Room Tip: the rozah gate # is 25

We stayed for 3 nights, and it was quite a pleasantt stay. The hotel was very close to Al Nabawi mosque, the room is comfortable. Staff are helpful, quickly responded to our request and they clean the room regularly. Elevators were not great and we had to wait for a while to get to our room.

Cordialement,

Mehdi (Guest Experience Manager au Majlis Grand Mercure Madina)

Location is right across from al-Nabawi mosque and close to shops and stores. The hotel itself is good but not extraordinary. The room is average. There are restaurants that serve good buffet and a coffee shop on the ground floor that serve coffee and small meals. The elevators are small and slow.

Dear Dregar,

First I would like to thank you for your comment, it help us to understand our Guest have carefully read your message and considered that you have found the wait too long despite our two lifts.

It is true that during the period of Hajj, when the adhan comes, hotels near haram meet the same problem: all the pilgrims leave at the same time to their room to get to the Prophet's Mosque located a few steps. Which generates a few minutes of waiting; Fortunately, the call to prayer is made about 20 minutes before prayer.

We apologize again qnd hope to see you soon.

Mehdi (Guest experience Manager).

This hotel is very convenient and located very closed to the Alharam mosque. Although the meal is average, the cleanliness and the service are very good. Room amenities are also very good. The staff are friendly and you will easily find those who can speak English. When I stayed there I had to recharge the room key many times, but It was OK for a safety reason. I highly recommend this hotel.
