“Good enough...just not particularly good...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

I've stayed twice now at the Bashkortostan. As other reviewers have noted, many of the rooms are quite small (although there is a selection of larger ones), and the hotel harkens back to the glories of 70's communist Intourist as regards basic design. However, it is clean, the breakfast is okay, the WIFI is free in the rooms as well as the reception (a change from last year), the hotel is quiet and the staff helpful. It is expensive for what you get, but until someone builds a modern western hotel in Ufa the Bashkortostan is the only game in town and can charge what it wants.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a larger room at the back of the hotel. Non-smoking rooms don't seem to e...

The hotel is not worthy for the price. They just try to squeeze every dollar out of you. In order to use the pool they charge $20 per hour. The Internet in the room is not free. The bar is expensive and you cannot charge the bar bill to the room but you have to pay in cash or credit card. Ok the breakfast is included, however it is TERRIBLE- the hot items are cold and have a smell. If you have a choice stay somewhere else.

Overpriced for the quality, definitely not of European 4star standard. OK room but single bed very small. Staff friendly and try their best to be helpful. WiFi in lobby and bar is free but despite trying two laptops could not get this to work, also observed that nobody else could get their laptops to connect either. However WiFi in rooms, which you have to pay for, works OK (strange that isn't it). Breakfast very hit and miss with choices from day to day. Nice bar and friendly barman but annoyingly they will not let you charge drinks to your room, cash or credit card only. Location close to center of city is good and not too far from airport.

Price for that hotel is higher than it should be. the quality of the hotel is around european 3 stars. Difference between "business" and "economy" rooms is just the size of them. Bed in "economy" room is in my opinion too small. Breakfast is ok, but you shouldn't expect something special. Wi-fi is free, but only in the lobby. Location of the hotel is one of the key points - in the city center and not really far from the airport. For one-night-stay this hotel is fine.

A good location and long time being a central hotel is not enough for 4 stars. The regular room still looks like it looked in the Soviet Union (especially the bathroom). Breakfast is of so-so quality, and to use WiFi one has to buy a card for 100Mb of traffic.
So, not bad for business trip, when you come to the hotel with the only purpose - to sleep. The price for a standard single room is incredible in comparison with what you get
