In this hotel we had a perfect room with view over the Moyka canal with all basic needs. Location is fantastic. Booked the hotel last year, based on tripadvisor recommendations. We were not disappointed!!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Pre booking on line and supplying me with the right letter/form for our visa application was all done in a most helpful manner. All English speaking staff. Helpful friendly and courteous. Great location. Rooms were quiet , clean and spacious overloking the canal. I was not well on the trip so staff were very helpful in getting me medicine from a pharmacist.
Restaurant was disappointing. You had to go outside hotel to get to it which when it was pouring with rain or in a blizzard was inconvenient. Breakfast was OK. Shame however that it was quite a confined space and very very smokey at all times which I find very offputting as a non smoker when I am eating. The menu was limited and the food not brilliant but was always cooked and delivered quickly and discounted to Hotel guests. Location for all sights could not be bettered.

We just returned from a 5 day stay at the Pushka Inn in St. Petersburg -- senior citizens experiencing Russia for the first time. The hotel staff was more than helpful, not just while we were there but in the planning of our trip. They answered my original email promptly, helped arrange our visa support, and offered us great service during our visit. The location is superb, a short walk from The Hermitage and other major sights, as well as from Art Square. We were able to walk to and from the opera at night, feeling comfortable and safe. Their breakfasts were wonderful, and the restaurant offered well prepared dishes, Russian and otherwise, at a 20% discount for those staying at the hotel.

No better choice!
I spent the Easter week-end in St. Petersburg at the Pushka inn hotel. Location is a big plus: everything is within waking distance (2 minutes far from the Hermitage, 3 from the Church on the Spilled Blood, etc.) It is an historical building on the Moyka, where all the most beautiful palaces are. The area is quiet and safe.
Another big plus goes to the personnel: very, very helpful, courteous and smiley. Their English is very good and they could help us in organizing our visit. I contacted them by e-mail before my departure and they booked for me and my traveling group of ten persons a minivan to pick us up at the airport. On top of that, they found for me an Italian speaking guide and a minivan for a day trip to Tsarkoe Selo. We also followed their advise and had lunch at Podvorye restaurant (http://www.podvorye.ru/PodvoryeVD/Index.aspx?Tool=Index ) a place I highly recommend.
At the Pushka Inn we booked their “3 bedrooms and living room with kitchen apartment” and their “one bedroom and living room with kitchen apartment”. Rooms were clean and spacious. No luxury, but they have everything you could need (washing machine, fridge, micro wave, TV, etc) and even more.
As guests of the hotel we had a 20% discount at their restaurant, which is next door on the same street. Food, including our free breakfast, was excellent and everybody was courteous and patient with us (taking orders from a group of ten in a foreign language is not that easy…).
What else can I add…I definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant to tourists who do not want to miss anything in charming St. Petersburg.
