“Location is good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Good location - walking distance from Nevsky Propsect (the main shopping and sight seeing street). Breakfast is adequate, and hotel is modern.

Only problem is - there is no lift, so you have to lug your luggage up flights of steps or wait for the porter to do that for you!

We stayed for 5 nights, and to be honest rooms exceeded my expectations. If they offered better breakfast then I'll definitely give them 5/5!

Pros: The location is great, very close to the metro station (5 minutes walking only), as well there is Free Wi-Fi. We reserved the comfort room with extra bed and it was just perfect, spacious, clean with comfort king size bed.

Cons: Breakfast is very poor, there is only 1 type of cheese and if you arrived at 10 most of the times you will find nothing to eat! No elevator so be prepared to use stairs :(

Room Tip: Comfort rooms at 5th level are just perfect, having and extra bed only available at comfort rooms.

This is in a rather unlovely part of St Petersburg. The fifth corner of a busy traffic hub presents an unwelcome introduction to St Petersburg. A glass street level door leads you to a flight of steep stairs to the firstfloor reception. There is no lift! So another 80 steps later you find your room. Whilst not a problem for me my 84 year old mother only just made it. The truth is that this is not well located and is more Premier Inn than boutique. No atmosphere either·

If you want to taste the best St`Pete nightlife - be sure it's right place to live. Rubinsteina street with its bars and restaurants is right here! So, what about hotel? Spacious rooms, quality breakfast, nice staff - everuthing is ok. Only 2 disadvanatages I want to focus:
- no elevator
- long waiting for the transfer car at the railway station (but you can walk approx. 15 min if you don`t have many bags).

A fantastically located hotel which represents excellent value for money. Don't be put off by the slightly shabby looking exterior, inside the restaurant, communal areas and rooms are all modern, clean and comfortable. The beds were firm and comfortable, the breakfast good and the staff were very helpful. There's no lift, either up one floor to reception, or to any of the upper floors, but a porter is always available if you need one. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Request a room at the back of the hotel which tend to be quieter.

After finishing my group tour I stayed on several day more in St. Petersburg. I was very pleased with my choice of 5th Corner. The rooms are large and airy and very clean and very quiet. The showers are good. The breakfast is great. The staff very helpful. Free computer use in reception. Free hot and cold water on the 4th floor and tea bags. A comfortable walk to all the main sites and the metro is nearby which is handy for going to the airport.
A good choice considering the price of rooms in the centre!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room that faces the back.
