Ate here last night after not getting a table at another local restaurant and was rather glad it worked out that way. The atmosphere was great and the place seemed full of Russians, drinking, eating and playing games such as chess and backgammon. My wife and I even had a game of dominoes whilst waiting for our food. We enjoyed the food (she had Chicken Kiev, and I had the Borscht followed by the Monks meat pot, which was a great one pot stew of meat, topped with a kind of bread hat (see photo).
The prices were very reasonable and the staff were helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit for simple food, drinks and great atmosphere.
