“Beautiful attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

The Palace jas been maintained magnificently. The grounds are extraordinary and it is very pleasant to wander through the grounds as well as the Palace, It tends to be crowded, but not impossible to navigate.

“Hydrofoil worth the splurge!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Having been pick pocketed on the Metro whilst examining cheaper alternatives, I guess I would recommend splashing out on the hydrofoil. It is an expensive but enjoyable way to travel and save all your energies for walking around this fantastic site. R1100 pp return for a 45 minute each way trip. Standing outside on the outward journey is invigorating, especially when passing beneath the bridges!

“Lovely garden but palace closed at present”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

Even in the rain we enjoyed getting a taste for what this garden must have been like in its glory days.

We visited one of the cafe's, which had good coffee and reasonable cakes. Had it been sunny it would have been a lovely place to spend an hour away from the noise of the city.

“Indulge in power and luxury!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

A massive collections of well-designed statues, fountains, trees, plants, and flowers that only the empire could order them to happen. Excellent tour place! This is another type of legacy built on tons of money and labor.

“Makes you forget you are in the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

It was surprising how much the gardens blocked out the sound. Every little courtyard held another surprise. It is worth a walk around for sure.
