“Great woodwork inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Beautiful, cosy downtown palace. I especially admire the woodwork on the walls and ceilings. It is claimed, that Rasputin has been killed here.

“Best preserved interior”

We loved the history connected to it, the beauty of the rooms. we were impressed with how well it was maintained. It was interested to learn about the history of Rasputin death.

“The last days of the Tsars comes to life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

This was one of the stops on our SpB 3 day tour of St. Petersburg. It was absolutely fascinating. We have all heard of Rasputin and this is the site of his murder in 1916. The palace has a recreation of the events leasing to the assassination complete with wax models and photographs. Upstairs is the palace itself with grandeur and opulence so common to St. Petersburg. The highlight for me was the private theatre with orchestra pit and royal box. Well worth a visit, even amongst all the other palaces of St. Petersburg.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

We were very lucky to have a private tour/dinner/performance in this palace. It was very impressive. If we didn't have the private event there I don't think I would have been as impressed but the history of the place makes it interesting.

“A Venetian Palace in St. Petersberg”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Of all the stops this began without much aplomb but ended well. The downstairs recreation left me not interested in continuing but upstairs the rooms were very nice. If you have to miss a museum this would be the one I would skip if you are short on time. (But if you love history I would make the effort since so much took place here)
