Owner description: One of the best examples of Baroque-style architecture, this splendid blue and white "Sailors' Church" topped with five glistening golden cupolas contains many 18th-century icons, ten magnificent paintings and walls that convey the history of the Russian navy.

“Picturesque”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Blue and white on the outside, and a pretty sight, especially viewed across the canal. The interior is dark and less interesting, and it is a working church, so silence, no photography and no sinful women's hair on view.

Wonderful structure..and the colours are great.
Mind the pick pockets ..there is a market just around the corner, but it is all clothes for locals...

“Nice if you have time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

This is one of those churches in St. Petersburg a bit away from the center, but worth seeing if you have the time. It is dedicated to the naval heroes and has names of those servicemen who lost their lives in various wars written on the walls of the Cathedral. It is one of the only churches to have remained open in St. Petersburg during the Soviet period.

“Good and free to visit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

A great place to visit which is free in St Petersburg, as you don't have to pay to get in, although don't wear shorts as then they will not let you in and videos and cameras are also not allowed.

Impressive from the outside and lovely inside we could only go so far in being tourists, but its well worth going inside as its well presented and the artwork is gorgeous.

“A great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

We had a tour guide for two full days and as this was a third half day we were taken here. A service was going on and it added to the serenity of our visit. Not a must see but nice if you have the time.
