This cathedral is right off the metro on Nevsky Prospekt, so you have no reason why not to visit. and it faces the Church on Spilled Blood, at the end of the canal, another must. This is an actual working cathedral so you can possibly catch a service here if you wish. While is't not a opulent as some of the others, it is right on Nevsky, which makes it an easy target to visit. And when you consider it was a "Museum of the History of Atheism and Religion" during the Soviet period, it makes the visit even more interesting.
