First of all the hotel location was superb. Close to the main station (Moscow station if travelling by train from Moscow). Also close to restaurants, shopping centres and main street.
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly receptionists who handed out little soft toys for our kids.
I would have given 5 stars if the following hadn't happen.
The mattress was so saggy (to the point where i could fee the spring), eventually they added 2 toppers which stops the spring issue but still didnt fix the sagginess!
Shower was ok but mouldy. Had to wait for 10 minutes for the water to get warm.
Lastly, which got my nerve - upon check out, the cleaner accused us of stealing hand towels, which neither my wife or I had ever seen. We were given 2 bath towels and 2 face towels. Her attitude was so rude towards us. We happily asked them to check our luggages! Beware with Russians in general, [we had really bad experience, almost got pickpocket (luckily we travelled in a group of friends). accused of damaging a painting in the Hermitage museum which they couldnt find an evidence except a chip on the frame!]
So, advice if you staying in this hotel - do an inventory check (mini bar, towels, bathrobes, pillows before checking in to avoid such issue (and to some exageration check the number of doors/windows, who knows they would pick anything you unexpected). take some photos.
Unfortunately the people (which local people would argue they're immigrants) spoilt our admirability of St Petersburg which is a beautiful city.
Our other friends stayed in a family suite - avoid it if you have kids. they put a double barrel loc...

First of all we would like to thank you for choosing our hotel and for your informative review. It is very pity to read that you have experienced uncomfortable feelings in our hotel.
We do apologize for this unpleasant moment with our chambermaid, sure she shouldn't ask you, and i hope you will forgive her for such active reaction, she was so active cuz she not speak english and tryed to explain you what she wants by hands, but sure such attitude is unacceptable. We do apologize once again, and of course it is our responsibility.
We would like to inform you and other customers that in all rooms in our hotel we have medium hardness of mattress, and after your request, we added two hard toppers.
We still hope that your stay in our city was full of positive moments and you have now wonderful memories about your visit.
