“Cheap and safe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Some of the best breakfast in town. Can't go wrong with prices, and service is not bad. Great location, and decent options for normal, not fancy food. Go there all the time, never had a bad experience.

“Kind of poshy place stuffed with glamourous yappies, fairly priced, delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2011

I have been to this cafe hundred of times over the last years for lunch and occasional evening meetings, so be ready to hear the whole truth about this place =)

The interior is kind of kitchy and glamourous modern art (with wide LCD screens performing Fashion TV or similar and Warhol parodies on walls). The cuisine varies from classic Russian salad and borsch through Mediterranean Caesar salad and fetuccini to Japanese rolls and tempuras. The food in general is well-served and delicious, however I have experienced several cold soups and coffees which were expected to be hot.

The service is the only possible trouble I would say. They will of course change your cold soup/coffee for hot one, but that might take ages (crucial for lunches with limited time for it)! Mostly young male staff can mix up the orders from time to time. But overall impression is still fine as long as you are not in a hurry and generally quite relaxed.

During lunch time you will be surrounded by Citibank clerks and some serious businessmen discussing investments into latest skyscraper or new Pulkovo terminal, while the evening will bring you more casual and smiling clientele with lonely champagne flutes (females) or proper dinners (males) with something from each cuisine they offer.

I would recommend this place for a casual and relatively inexpensive breakfasts and lunches with a wide choice of dishes and for warming up loud friends meeting with intensions for overnight partying.

“for young and in search of...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2010

for young and in search of... Nice place with a relatively cheap menu (if you can judge by the price lists of the Russian restaurants). Service is fast, majority of the people, are in their mid 20's, good looking, trying to be "in style". My biggest concern was the excessive amount of smokers. Karaokie on wed nights and on friday and saturday, evenings turn in to full blown disco club (which is actually nice). Live DJ. Oh, the best this place can offer, is the breakfast in the late morning, when there are no one there. Enjoy :)
