After Moscow, we stayed at this hotel for five nights. Having dined at the Caviar Bar and Rossi plus Mansarda and Palkin, I am so glad we choose L’Europe for our final evening. We ate in L’Europe each breakfast but dinner was a much more elegant experience. As this was a Friday, there was a violinist and pianist as well as a ballet duo. Whilst we did not have a great view (priority for front tables was given to group tours) we did not feel overly deprived as the music added to the atmosphere which we enjoyed from our more secluded and romantic table. There was a good menu choice. We selected some Caviar and vodka appetisers. The salmon tartar and foie gras starters were sublime as was the wagu tenderloin main course. The service was very attentive and just the right balance of friendly and formal which matched perfectly the venue and occasion. Having had a disappointing experience at Palkin on the my 50th birthday, imagine my surprise and delight to receive a birthday cake complete with sparklers, along with some additional farewell gifts. This was definitely the best overall dining experience of our stay in Russia and a fantastic end to our holiday.
