“Expensive and far-away from the centre”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

Park Inn is partly renovated old soviet-style big hotel. Huge lobby and rooms with usual necessities. Rooms were clean but bit old. Breakfast was almost nonedible. Hotel is far away feom the centre/castle which is only sight in town. Price-quality ratio was bad.

This hotel is a bit far from the main sites but the centrally located hotels were full. The breakfast here was very good and the staff were nice. However, the duvet was very uncomfortable and bad quality so I pushed it to the side. I didn't really have a good nights sleep here but it was only for two nights so it was ok. I felt for the price I paid which was the same as the hotel I paid in St Petersburg, that it was overpriced but if you book at the last minute you may have no other choice.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days. I think the price was too high for this service. The room was big and rather clean. On the 1st day of my living there I had a problem with hot water in my room. And for this reason I was late for important meeting. Breakfast was tasty but the staff in the restaurant worked very slowly. There were not slippers in my room. WIFI worked badly. Besides, I hoped to go for swim in the evening, but the swimming-pool was closed. Nothing, except a sense of disappointment...

The only disadavantage I have noticed - the hotel is too expensive for provincial town like Novgorod.
Other conditions and services were normal or good but not excellent:
- 30-40 minutes walk to the Kremlin along the old town or embankment.
- clean and nice rooms
- ordinary breakfast
Also you can have a problems with parking if you are to late in the evening. Local free parking is too small to accept all the guests' cars. So was I and had to leave a car on the nearest paid parking.

I had just come from Moscow, so I loved that this hotel was within walking distance of all the sites (I'm quite a fast walker and it took me about 20 minutes).
The staff were so helpful and went well out of their way to help me - they even went to the bus station to buy me a ticket to St Petersburg - I hadn't even asked!
My room was clean and spacious and had all the facilities I needed.
Definitely recommend staying here.

This is a big hotel, good facilities, attentive staff and an excellent breakfast! A little walk from the centre, but they offer a shuttle bus or you can go by public transport. The staff speaks good English.

Our tour director called this the best hotel in town, but tripadvisor ranks it #5 of 12 hotels. We found it be spartan, with a Soviet-era feel.

The room was comfortable, but adequate, and reminded us of a Motel 6 in the United States. The Park Inn's amenities are not as good as those offered by the Motel 6.

The breakfast buffet was good for mainstream people but only adequate for alternative-type people.

We stayed there only one night and did not receive much service.

The saving grace was free wi-fi with a strong signal.
