We have stayed at the Novatel more than 20 times ever since the hotel as opened. The hotel is clean and nice and modern. We have never heard any airplances taking off and landing, the sound insulations is good. The staff is very nice and those at the front dest speak good Emglish. The pool and sauna in the basement are a nice touch even if the pool is a little small.
The only complaint is that if you reserve your room at a lower rate than their officail rate, when you do to check in, they have no record of your reservation. They then gladly offer to give you a room at the official rate which of course is much higher. They ripped us off this way once. From then on, I take a printed copy of my reservation and show this to them when they are "unable to find my reservation". When they see that I have a printed copy of my reservation then they miraculously find my reservation af the lower price.
Except for this problem, which a wise and prepared traveler can easily overcome, this is a great hotel.
Hotel prices in Moscow are very expensive for what you receive and this Novatel is no exception but IF you need to stay in Moscow while traveling and you do not need to stay in the center of Moscow then this is the very best place. We have been traveling to Russia at least 5 times per year since 1992 and we have tried most of the hotels.
This is the only one we stay in now.

Small and dingy rooms, decorated in 1950's style, with jets taking off
all night long every 20 minutes. And, of course, you're still watched
over by a floor monitor in Moscow, who all look like they're sent over
from central casting with the heading "Nazi Matron." For this, they
charged me more than $150, and tried to charge me $300. Americans, beware.
