“a great evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Gorky park has a very impressive gate & beyond the gate the park is meant for fun & games. The central Fountains are a great sight with models of paper boats floating in the corners of the water .The park has a good boating area where visitors can boat arund in the lake. near the river front a wide road for walking. all type of games are housed in the park with specific area for each sport. there is a vast area where sand had been placed to give a feel of a beach with beach chairs , garden umbrellas , boat oars , life belts placed around. this is a great draw & lot of kids are seen making sand castles there .There is a stage near this sand area where live shows are performed. various sizes& models of cycles are available on rent for cyclying in the park . It is a great park to spend an evening

“One of the best places in Moscow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

This park was upgraded last year, and now it is just wonderful. First, it is quiet, clean and tidy there. Park guards discreetly keep order.
Near the main entrance there is a fountain. When me and my children were there, fountain was dancing to the music.
This park is a wonderful place for families with children. There is a carousel, a trampoline, playgrounds. There is a "Green School" for small children. A real live rabbit lives somewhere in a small house (rabbit-hutch). Fluffy squirrels jump in the trees. There are stalls with icecream and water. Several toilets are located throughout the park. There are a few cafes and restaurants.
For teens and active adults there is also a lot of fun: volleyball, table tennis, bicycles ...
In winter they make a very large ice rink with zones for children, for dancing, etc...
There is free wi-fi in the Park. In some places there are outlets to charge phones or laptops.
The park is situated along the river. There is a boat station, where you can buy a ticket and take a ride on a boat by the Moscow River.
In general, there is everything for life and rest. My children like to go to Gorky Park. And I do too

“Our favorite spot to while away the afternoons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

We very much enjoyed the recently renovated Gorky Park. It was great for a stroll, lots of people watching, lovely fountains, and cafes (with beer). There are giant “pillows” throughout the park that visitors can lounge on, but a picnic blanket would do just as well.

“Moscow's central park. Don't miss it. The spirit of a new Russia.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

I was so excited to see Gorky Park, the site of the famous novel, that I asked our driver to take us there at night. He took us to one of the gates that was unlit and rather desolate that we decided to have him take us back to the hotel. The next time I saw the park was on our way down from Sparrow Hill and wow, what a difference. The park is a summer (and perhaps other seasons as well) must see for anyone wanting to experience the new Russia. Moscow's version of New York's Central Park is much more than the typical European park. Beautiful gardens, walkways, ponds, benches, picnic areas restaurants, ice cream shops, and even a paella shop. There is free WiFi throughout. Like in NY, there were artists, strollers, people cycling, canoeing, skating... the new energy of a city coming alive. Just like you don't want to miss Central Park to get to the soul of NY, don't miss this inexpensive way to mix in with the locals and see a new spirit far from that of its communist past.
