Owner description: Red Square, once the site of executions and military parades, sits smack in the middle of Moscow, bounded on one side by the Kremlin walls and Lenin's tomb and on the other by GUM, the country's largest department store.

“Lives up to its billing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Lenin's Mausoleum - there is a queue but it moves pretty quickly. You can't take mobiles in if they have a camera - so either travel light of leave them at a counter on the corner - 50 roubles to put it there,
Just wandering around and taking in the atmosphere.

“a place where all the people got married”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Three weddings in one day! Crazy people :) Lot of tourists and LENIN. I liked churches nearby and museums. On the left side you will find extremely expensive shops.

“Impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

The square was being prepared for a military tattoo but it was still impressive - both at night and in the day. The queue for Lenin's tomb was too long for us.

“A "must visit" in Moscow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Red Square and the Kremlin is a must see in Moscow with both Russians and Tourist flocking to the square for whatever reason. The St Basil Cathedral's colorful "onion shaped" domes definitely deserve some shutter action for the discerning traveller while the shopping mall beside the square provides decent food and shopping experience. Go during the day and at night as the scene is totally different when the lights are lit up in the evening. Visit the museum, walk around the square, sit by the side or laze at the nearby parks. This place is definitely worth visiting the entire day if you only have a day in Moscow.

“Sadly overtaken by a festival”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

We arrived in Moscow for 4 days to find the whole of the square overtaken by an arena setting up for an international tatoo festival. Such a shame. Lenins tomb was closed as a result and it was one of the most important things we wanted to see. No info available before we booked.
