“Not what I expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

Being a child of the cold war, I really expected an cold, imposing and menacing place. On the first night of my arrival I walked to the square and there was a skateboard exhibition sponsored by Vans. Nonetheless, its a spectacular place. Flanked by the GUM department store-mall and the Kremlin.

“Worth several trips, the highlight of Moscow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We visited Red Square 3 times on our trip to Moscow. The site is not to be missed, an amazing view of the Kremlin walls, St. Basil's cathedral, the GUM department store, and other interesting buildings.

We returned to photograph St. Basil's in the afternoon sunlight, which was better for taking pictures from the square.

We noticed that Lenin's tomb was opened with restricted hours on certain days of the week, which are displayed in Russian on a sign to the right of the tomb.

The GUM department store is worth a visit, with gorgeous glass ceilings, a wealth of shops, and free toilets.

This was a highlight of our trip.

“An amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

A place which is impressive experiencing live. A historical square today surrounded by both historical and beautiful buildings as well as a large high-end shopping mall.
