The museum has a large collection of paintings and sculptures. There are some remarkable paintings such as the Betrothal of the Venetian Doge to the Adfriatic sea by Canaletto, some paintings by Pousin and Vernet. It called my attention the very large collection of plaster casts. They are reproductions(some good, most not too good) of very famous sculptures such as the David by Michelangelo, the Venus of Milo, etc. If you have visited the originals in other museums such the Louvre, L'academia, the British Museum and the Pergamon, you may be very disappointed when visiting the Pushkin museum.
They have relocated the impressionism and postimpressionism collections and you have to pay more money to visit them.
The really bad part is the lack of professionalism exhibited by the museum staff. Very aggresive and with very poor manners, expecially in the cloack room and the ticket office.
