“Excellent service, a real gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011 via mobile

In my travel experience I stayed at three different hotels during my business trips in Moscow and Radisson Royal was by far the best. I’ve chosen this hotel from comments made here on TripAdvisor. Everything about the room was great. High ceilings, huge bathroom and shower, comfortable bed, high-end furnishings and electronics throughout. The room was so quiet and it was hard to believe I was in Moscow and not out in the country. I had a busy schedule but enjoyed every moment that spent in the hotel. Here a special mention of its key business location with Expocentr adjacent to the hotel. But anyhow it isn't the luxury rooms or location that makes this hotel stand out - it’s the staff and the «little things» they do for you. I can't compliment them enough. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

What can I say - either my week at this hotel was a lucky exception, or people who were critical of the place were singularly unlucky. I'd say this was among the very best hotel experiences I had worldwide. Service was great, from bellboys to room cleaning (which happened at least twice a day, as far as I could see) and health club. The swimming pool (5 lanes at 50m - Olympic size) is terrific and mostly empty, the gym is equipped better than most specialized outfits. Italian restaurant was pretty good (and the views are fantastic), the chef is actually Italian and even makes his own limoncello. Not a bad one, too; perhaps a bit too strong. There are always boys and girls around, happy to help; most of them speak pretty good English (it might help if a guest speaks at least some Russian). All in all, if someone pays for another business trip to Moscow, I'll pick this hotel...

I stayed only for one night when I was in for business, and for that purpose this hotel offered everything I needed and more; luxurious touches in each guestroom, extremely comfortable beds, humidifiers in each room, tasteful although opulent decor. Service was good, with inconsistencies in professionalism amongst staff, but nothing major. Staff are very young for the most part, and are not necessarily so well trained. It does seem that the staff do try hard to please. This is much better than the standard Radisson Hotel, and there are luxury stores lining the lobby. As noted by other reviewers, breakfast is extensive and quite tasty, with even a small caviar (salmon roe) station. Bono restaurant was excellent. Will return.

Room Tip: end rooms (ending in 21) are larger and quite nice

When staying at this well-reviewed hotel I was expecting a quality service. I thought wrong. Instead I faced by the most horrific trip of my life. There was people roaming around the outside of the hotel that were homeless and smelly. It ruined my stay due to the ignorance of them. When trying to get passed they ignored me and begged for money! On approaching the hotel staff to complain they said there was nothing they could do and it was unusual for something like this to happen so they are unprepared for this situation.
The staff overall were quite dismal, the English of the staff was poor and the standard of the customer service was appalling. It was such a shame as I was looking forward to experiencing a weekend of Russian history in his beautiful city.

This hotel clearly deserves every award it has been given since becoming the Radisson Royal. Indeed it is difficult to imagine any where in the world excelling it's standard. Occupying one of the historic Seven Sisters skyscrapers of Moscow it has all the opulence of more famous international hotels.

Our room was exactly as shown on the hotel website and overlooked the Moska River to the Presidential White House directly opposite.

The staff, mostly young ladies are obviously very carefully selected and trained, they are a delight to see and speak to, with their impeccable English. Special mention must be made of the young lady trainee on the Consierge staff who spent a long time on the telephone to Intourist ensuring that our transfer to the airport was arranged.
The bell boys would always say good morning/afternoon whenever passing and there was never any suggestion of an expectation of a tip for any service.

To be honest the security was rather intimidating with uniformed and plain clothes guards but clearly it is deemed to be necessary for the safety of guests.

The breakfasts have been well documented in their choice and quality by previous reviewers but again the service is impeccable from the young ladies in their beautifully tailored uniforms.

We must also mention the chambermaids who worked hard to ensure that the rooms were always of the same high standard as the public areas.

Radisson also run a fleet of river cruisers from a jetty outside of the hotel and we opted for an evening cruise with dinner. This was of the same high standard as the hotel and in fact the meal was very reasonably priced.

We also ate at the steak restaurant which is within the hotel. Whilst not cheap it is of the same high standard as the hotel. For anyone looking for a more budget priced meal Pinnocio's Italian Restaurant is just up the street and signposted out side of the hotel.

Whilst the hotel is a little way from the Kremlin and Red Square it is a straightforward walk to reach them. Beware though the highways are eight lanes wide and Moscovite drivers are maniacs, only cross the road on underpasses, never zebra crossings unless they are policed.

Thank you to all who made our short stay so enjoyable

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel floor eight and above.

This 5-star luxury hotel is situated at the intersection of Moscow’s Kutuzovskiy Prospekt and Novy Arbat. It offers free Wi-Fi, an indoor pool and modern spa facilities. This is one of Stalin's "Seven Sisters", and was built between 1953 and 1957 as part of the Seven Sisters project, and showcases Soviet Neo-classicism architecture. It is 206 metres high, and was the largest European hotel of its day. The hotel affords guests easy access to major attractions and state buildings including Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bolshoi Theatre, among others.

Room Tip: The model of the city in the lobby is worth seeing!
