It was OK - conveniently next to a Metro station, for catching Aeroexpress to the airport. Around the corner though are some unsavoury types.
Avoid the breakfast, most of it unedible. The business centre is expensive and a bit basic. The conference rooms are basic, the room we had had 4 big pillars in the middle, so people were arranged somewhat skew-wiff so they can see the stage.
The rooms - small, too hot to start with. No iron unless you ask. Toiletries were fine. A minibar comes round to replenish, so you may have to ask for more drinks. Minibar and room service were expensive. View of the river nice, but my room was too small to stay there.
However, it was overall quite nice, the staff were friendly, some of the decor was good, and the ambience was just right.
Not that bad at all. I’ve been expecting something significantly worse after reading reviews here. Yes, décor is a bit “tired”, yet probably ads some pseudo Soviet feeling. We had a corner room with a view over the river and Europe Square, it was quite big, had everything one would’ve expected to find in a room. Service was good – all in all, a good hotel in a good location, in fact, after reading other comments I was actually positively surprised staying there. One thing though – do not use their “taxi” service, that’s definitely a rip off!
We stayed at the Radisson SAS for only 3 nights when we arrived in Moscow for a bit of comfort to ease us into the Russian Capital.
The Hotel itself for Russian standards i would have to say was excellent, but it definently was nothing to write home about. The room which had a nice view out over the river and Square had super comfy beds and thats about all. the bathroom was severly outdated and the furniture in the room looked like it was from the 80s.
The price we payed for the room it was a total rip off but what do you expect for being in one of the most expensive cities in the world!!!
Now that i have been to Russia i would definently stay somewhere else, but it is a great place to start off for a nervous traveller in Moscow.
Also i wouldnt bother eating at any of the food outlets, they are a total rip off, service was appauling and the food tasted like it had been cooked in a microwave!!!
Would not recommend it to anyone, on business or otherwise.
The lobby is outdated, with horrible light blue leather sofas and not convenient for meetings.
Too many peculiar characters arrving in armoured vechicles with body guards. I have used half a dozen times, but was never happy about the cost even on the expense account. There are much better hotels in more central locations that cost the same or less.
Away from the centre locations for most businesses and a pain to get to, as you often get stuck in traffic.
Rooms are ok, but a bit small. If you don't smoke and stay in a non-smoking room, you still get a very strong smell of smoke via the aircon system.
The only good things are the sushi restaurant there and the free WiFi.
