“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

This is a very nice clean, tidy and comfortable hotel. The rooms are spacious and well kept, like the communal areas of the hotel,

There are only 2 downsides for me:

The breakfast area is very busy and difficult to find a table.
The food is very very expensive.

We were pleasantly pleased and surprised with our stay. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, the bathroom had fluffy towels and nice toiletries. Free wifi in the rooms. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast had plenty of choices including eggs to order. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Moscow.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel and the price . Is a relatively new hotel . The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable . Rooms well maintained - I was there for a week . Breakfast good . Bar OK - food served there until late . Very little use of formal dining area in hotel . Wifi good and free . Location excellent for business and also ideal for Red Square etc for vacationing . Two excellent pubs nearby that serve great beer and food - Molly Gwynnes and Punch and Judy - only 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel . Taxis organised well by hotel (strongly advised if you have not been to Moscow before) - street taxis figure clients to be fair game and there is always a good chance you could be ripped off . Hotel great in this context and taxis can be charged to rooms if needed . Overall a great and safe place to stay .

Room Tip: Did not avail myself of pool or spa .

Excellent hotel within walking distance of the companies I needed to see. Excellent room facilities; quiet a/c. Excellent restaurant and food. Limited exercise facilities for such a good hotel. Set in a quiet area - set back from the road hence quiet. See the signage on the road near the river and the entrance appears to be at the back of the hotel. Yet within walking distance of the businesses I needed to see and various local shops and restaurants and the tram. Ongoing work on buildings in the area hidden behind painted awnings. Some excellent modern buildings not yet occupied one potential reason for quietness at the time (July 2013).

Although our taxi driver took a few wrong turns before he arrived at this hotel it was well worth the extra metres of sightseeing to get to there. We only stayed three nights but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Impressive looking building in a quiet location but only 15ish minutes walk along the embankment from the Kremlin. Although relatively expensive the food in the restaurant is particularly good. The service in the restaurant and bar were excellent. The staff in general were helpful and motivated.
Cafes and bars a short distance away.
We would stay here again.

This hotel is greatly situated in the heart of Moscow, and the Red Square is only 15 min walk. Price is reasonable for Moscow, the rooms are clean, modern equipment, staff is very pleasant and always quick to respond to your queries. I also appreciated the possibility to have an extra hour to check out from the official 12.00.
The hotel is situated in a new rebuild area of Moscow close to a river, but the hotel location is in a street behind the main road, and surrounded by a new apartment complex. This is excellent in terms of quietness, but it is hard for taxis to find the hotel (perhaps the hotel management, should indicate the hotel direction with a sign from the main road). Hotel also offers spa.
During day time, the hotel location is surrounded by offices and is relatively lively, but at night the area becomes empty, streets are very dark, and a bit daunting to walk around. Nevertheless the area is safe.
Various restaurant possibilities near by the hotel, and a little walk to a main road will get you a taxi.

Room Tip: Fancy a 15 min walk to the Red Square? this is the Hotel you need ! Great discovery !

Dear Swiss_traveler_70,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post your feedback at Tripadvisor!
It is our pleasure to know that you have high appreciated our standards and hotel facilities. We shall continue to do our best to meet the expectations of our valuable guests.
Thank you for your comment concerning an additional sign on the embankment (now there is only one sign and we understood that it is rather small in accordance to Moscow City Standard). From our side we will do all our best to indicate the hotel in better way. And your comment will help us with it!
Looking forward to welcoming you at Aquamarine Hotel,

Kind Regards,
Alexandra

Moscow is a hectic city which demands full concentration for the non Russian speaker as everything is written not only in a foreign language but a foreign alphabet. To find your way around the amazing and superb underground you have to be able to be a code breaker. So after a busy day of travel and walking and watching athletics to return to the cool, clean, comfortable quiet of the Aquamarine was so important.

The hotel is set in a quiet location but only 20 minutes walk from St Basil's/Red Square and 7 minutes from the metro. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the hotel. the bed was very big and comfortable. The room air conditioned and more than that it was not a noisy air conditioning unit. The air con was needed - it was very hot in Moscow last week.

Now the breakfasts - Wow! They are so good with masses of choice. I like lots of fruit and veg and oily fish in my diet and they were all there as well as yummy sausages and cheese balls - delicious. The staff are attentive but serious as all Russians seem to be.

Yes this was an excellent hotel for us and was really needed as Moscow is a fascinating place - it feels totally foreign and unique. So much to see. If you like independent travel, want to see Moscow under your own steam and enjoy puzzles ( ie fathoming out the underground) and want a quiet hotel out of the way but near all amenities then this maybe for you. Easy Jet fly from Manchester. Great Trip but it is exhausting and you need to have patience with queuing in Russia. But no queues in the hotel.
