“Charming with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Nice hotel, full of charm and an attractive antidote to soulless business travel. I got a big suite on the first floor for the price of a regular room, free Wifi, comfortable big bed and nice views of snow capped 19th century Moscow buildings all around (this was February).

Friendly staff too and good value.

It's a 30 minute walk up to Red Square and the Kremlin, but pretty direct and easy walking.

The hotel is in a central location of the city, I had the Room number 308, a very big room, 10000 RUB / night. Room and bathroom was very clean, the hotel is older and has a charm like an old Russian hotel with big leather chairs in the restaurant and bar. In the room the climatic system can't switch off and the drainpipe of the washbasin was blocked. WiFi is for free available. Communication in English at the reception and in the restaurant is possible. The service was very friendly. In the restaurant I ordered a salmon sandwich, 780 RUB, it tastes fine, but for me it seems to be too much cheese. They have Budweiser beer. Unfortunately the restaurant or bar has no windows. For the breakfast there isn't a buffet, you have to order your breakfast at the waiter, it seems complicate but it works fine.
I paid for a taxi from the airport to the hotel 1680 RUB and the time for the journey was approx. 50 min. I was here during a business trip.

This hotel is situed at 1 km at the south of the Kremlin, in a quiet little street.
We had a big big room, like a suite and apparently all the 16 rooms are like that: entry with guest Wc, living room, room and bathroom. And 2 balconies
The design is typically russian with dark wook everywhere, the bed is really comfortable and everything is very clean.
The + points :
+ geografical situation
+ big clean rooms
+ employees are really kind
+ swimming-pool
+ If you need an invitation for the visa, contact the reception, they will help you.

The - points:
- breakfast : takes too much time and not really tasty
- TV channels are only in russian

Small hotel, only 16, rooms in a quiet district of Moscow. Friendly staff with good English. Business lunch is very good value. Excellent room, spacious, well equipped. Overall the prices are very good by Moscow standards, particularly if you can negotiate a better room rate. Stayed here for four nights on a business trip, and enjoyed the stay very much.

Room Tip: Some building work in adjacent building (Oct 2011) looks likely to be ongoing for some time. Best to...

The only reason of not putting the hotel 5 star rating is its location, which is convenient enough in terms of distance to subway (5 minutes walk), but the district does not represent anything worth seing or experiencing. I do know some restaurants in this district but they are further away from hotel. It's a good safe district though, .with a number of office districts around, and 2 churches on your way to subway.

The atrium in the middle of the hotel looks impressive and the whole hotel is furnished in an elegant classy style. Standard room was excessive size with 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms. The service at reception was cute. The service at the bar, as opposed to the opinion of some German fellow-reviewers, was no problem at all, the bar is working 24h. Well, yes - rather poor selection of wine.
Very comfortable beds. Free WiFi.
What I loved about the hotel, is that it has a very honorable and calm atmosphere, also loved the terrace outside the hotel.
Be ware - there is construction works ongoing next to the hotel, be sure to ask the view on the parking, it is perfectly quit there.

Breakfast was great, you can order whatever they show you on the menu, but I came up with a number of stuff not on the menu and all of it was served.

I will definitely return there.

Good hotel. Nice friendly staff. Receptionists are very friendly with excellent English. The Rooms are quite large and are heated well.

Ideal for business trips.

Only downside: Food in the hotel is a little pricey for the quality and portions.

This is a mini hotel with only 16 rooms, so there was not to crowded, reception was friendly and efficient, rooms are larger than usual and pretty clean.
Breakfast was very good (combined small buffet with omelet delivered by a waitress)
Located very close to the center but in the very quite district, no disturbing noise during the night, but still very close to our office.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to any business or a tourist traveler
