“Nothing fancy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

I have stayed at the hotel several times during bussiness trips in Timisoara. In a nutshell, the hotel is average. Location is pretty good, close to the city center, can be reached also by foot in 15 - 20 minutes walking. The room and bathroom are big but with a standard outlook, is not a cosy atmosphere. The walls are quite thin, so if you are unlucky and have some noisy neighbourghs it can spoil your evening. The bed was not my favourite also, quite soft. Breakfast is standard, but the restuarant food is pretty ok, especially if you like italian food. They serve great pasta and pizza. The service is above average, the staff is friendly and willing to help. The hotel recently open a sauna and fitness area, but I didnt have the chance to use it.

I stayed here whilst attending a conference at the regional business centre, which is located right across the road. It was also within walking distance from the city centre, although I wouldn't have chosen to stay here had I not been at a conference.

The staff were always very polite and helpful. The room was quite large and had everything I needed for a good night's sleep. There was some noise from trams during the day, but I didn't find this to be a problem.

Unfortunately, smoking was allowed inside the hotel. Smoking seems to be popular in Romania. I am quite sensitive to the smell of smoke, so I noticed it in the public areas.

You get a room which is average 3 star hotel in Romania, nothing special.
The picture in their web site is nicer then what it is
Location is not at best, a bit far away from center.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2010

Stayed at the Boavista for a recent business trip to Timisoara. I wondered what to expect for 40 Euro but was not disappointed. Rooms were quite large and well-kept. The beds offered a decent sleep quality but the inefficient A/C was not helping (it was over 35°C outside, felt like 40°C inside).
Breakfast was very limited and the coffee and tea were evidently made with highly treated (chlorine) water; taste was sub-par. The recent offered some nice dinner options (Pizza was great) but the service was lackluster. The price for wine was much too high: paid 100 RON for a bottle of Hungarian red that we got in a restaurant in town (Casa dei Fiori; quite a good choice by the way) for 60.
A good ting was the free wifi; very much appreciated. And worked with VPN well.
One heads-up for business travellers: hotel doesn't accept Amex, only Visa/MC work.

This is a very interesting hotel, quite normal but a little spartan, and with a surpisingly good and extensive Italian menu in the restaurant.
Everything was clean. There were no problems speaking English. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, and there was a hot buffet breakfast.
But it is still not possible to get a plug for your wash basin, and if you hate smokers, then don't go to Romania in the first place!
