“Very Nice View and Excellent Food....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

We had a very nice meal at the Pumpkin Hill during our one week stay on the lake in Union Springs. Found out about the place on Trip Advisor.

We sat on the veranda which had a great view of the lake. The service was cheerful and astute.

The highlight was the appetizer which was the sautéed shrimp in a light barbeque sauce. This dish was to die for! All the other food we had here was excellent.

Highly recommend Pumpkin Hill.

“Great Food and Service on the outdoor veranda”

Read about this restaurant when booking the EB Morgan House and it lived up to the comments. Food was great and the service fast and efficient

“Beautiful setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Pumpkin Hill Bistro was a perfect place for lunch on a Summer's day. We were promptly seated outside with a view of the countryside. Though the menu is confusing we both had good lunches. Sandwiches were good and served with chips. The El Cubanito was very nicely pressed, and tasty. We had an interesting draft beer with lunch. Passed on desserts, nothing looked terribly interesting.

“Unprofessional”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

After a hot long day visiting Mackenzie child we were looking forward to pumpkin hill. We called ahead to make sure they could seat us because there was six of us. After ordering an appetizer of delicious BBQ shrimp we figured the rest of the meal would be as good . My daughters ordered a burger plain with the toppings on the side well done. My husband and daughter in law ordered a beef brisket sandwich with no toppings also. The burger came out pink with all the toppings the beef brisket consisted of two slices of meat full of fat and again with cheese. My husband peeled the cheese off cut the fat off and tried to make the best of it. My daughter asked a woman who I think may have been a manager for a new roll for her burger because it was wet from the tomato lettuce and cheese. She looked displeased and asked for the roll back in her hand ! instead of taking the plate back and fixing it. We waited for the cheese for the burger until my daughter got up and asked them for it and they said they would bring it out with the drinks. We overlooked the pink meat but just couldn't eat it with being cold . My husband asked to see the manager and after 5 minutes our server came out and said shell take the brisket off your bill. What we wanted was her to do her job. Come out apologize for the food and ask if there is a way to make it up to the customer. Offer a dessert or something. Very unprofessional and too busy for her customers. Too bad.

“Dinner on the patio hit the spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Even though it was summer we both ordered the Chicken Pie and local beer. Service and food were very good. No complaints here!
